rizki1, 07 Dec 2023These components are all from China and made in China... lo... moreBatteries are certified by local communication agencies.
FCC, TENAA and other.
Little example to help you understand. I believe Samsung Display has factory in China.
Screen made for Vivo, just needs to ship to vivo factory not far away.
Screen made for Samsung Galaxy needs to go to Vietnam. Longer distance, also pays import taxes.
This adds price to it.
Even if 2 phones have exactly same components, phone made out of China gonna cost more.
To brands that sell low volume, phones that cost $100-300 are not worth from financial point of view. They would need to sell much higher volume and decreases their costs too much to be viable.
Why some car brands only make those models that cost over $600.000 instead of simple $12.000 cars?

I would have gone for the 40pro but the 33W charger means there's not super charge mode and my Note 30VIP does not disappoint in CODM gameplay even without the game mode. Infinix, I'll wait for the next release. Try harder mean. You can make the phones heavier just make them right. The infinix market doesn't give a rat's beak about the iphone phenomenon. So take your time folks

DarlingYext, 07 Dec 2023The Hot 40 Pro is cool if it costs significantly less than ... moreHot 40 Pro feels like a Note 30 2.0 except for some extra features from Note 30 series.
Like you said, if Hot 40 Pro is much more cheaper than regular Note 30, its worth. Otherwise, Note 30 wins easily and Note 30 Pro is undoubtely a better choice over all.

Hot 30i vs Hot 40i: Aside XOS version and Android, not a real upgrade. Maybe on cameras, since Hot 40i has a main camera with f/1.6 and that 32MP selfie camera is very capable for the class. Hot 40i with 8GB RAM / 256GB ROM is also a plus.
Hot 30 vs Hot 40: So far, the worst in upgrade from previous gerenations. They are 92% the same device, except for reverse charging and 32MP selfie camera.
Hot 40 Pro: The only option to choose among these 3 devices. G99 delivers the needed performance for the class. Main camera seems to be good. I read somewhere that it uses a Samsung HM6 sensor, I believe the results might be okay for the class. By the way, Device Specifications stated that the main camera has DOL-HDR, which is uncommon and I hope someone can confirm. Same 32MP selfie shooter. Apart from that, same everything else.

rizki1, 07 Dec 2023These components are all from China and made in China... lo... moreStill, it is not that easy to simplify all the production processes just like that, despite what you say being true, because the cost estimation of production is broad and could be very limited if we're talking about budget phones like the Infinix Hot 40 series. Not to mention the highly saturated competition on the lower end compared to the higher end. I mean, how much is the difference between production volume and anything between an SUV and a hypercar?

potato4k, 07 Dec 2023Wait till you hear iTel's model numbers, like S23, lit... moreiTel have just a name as S23 but dont look like Samsung. This Infinix looks just like apple even tough larget then apple. The camera island and then 3 cameras pop up on the island is totally iphone
Camera island is pretty much only design element on phones that can make the phone look different. Other thing is paint jobs that other brands try to use to be different
In the wild with people who use covers also then it's hard to know what phone brand anyone have anyways cause most look the same

rizki1, 07 Dec 2023how hard is it for Nokia, HTC, Asus, Sony to make a low end... moreNokia recently flaunted how one of their newest model, XR21, was western made. Bet it was posturing against the Chinese since they are still operating as US lackeys.
Huawei not getting sanctioned will demolish Nokia Siemens in the telecoms department.
How are they supposed to make a cheap made in China phone with the current situation?

rizki1, 07 Dec 2023how hard is it for Nokia, HTC, Asus, Sony to make a low end... moreOkay, dude, I get it. You like your brands; everyone has them; I do have them; I respect it. But your statement is ONLY easier to say than it is done. I mean, don't you factor in a lot of aspects? From economics (both macro and micro), wages in different countries, material costs and expenses, imports and exports, geography, profit margin set, politics, production automation and production costs, simplicity, type of technology, approach of manufacturers, target markets, etc., that could make a huge difference? I remember that a statement from a car company says that if they are going to produce something cheap and easily accessible, there is always something that needs to be sacrificed in order to meet the budget limit, even if it's not visible. Meanwhile, if you are going to build something like a Bugatti Chiron, everything is on the table.
I mean, remember Aston Martin Cygnet? It was cheaper than any Aston Martin, akin to what you want from an expensive manufacturer. It was the answer to EU emission regulations. But the reality is that, despite being Aston's most affordable car in its entire lineup, it only produced at least 786 units over its lifetime span, compared to an even more obscure Aston Martin Virage final generation that's more expensive and only lasted a year in production lifespan (1,001 units produced).
