HTC allegedly working on One with stock Android

24 May, 2013
The phone will ship with stock Android instead of HTC's Sense 5 UI and should be exclusive to the US market.

Noel, 26 May 2013As much as i hate the omission of SD card slot and a remova... moreUltra pixel tech itself is not HTC. HTC was first to use it in a mobile and I commend them for it. Though being HTC and only 4mp is most definitely not comparable to the 13MP of the big shots. It's nice and gets the job done though. In the near future you can expect something like an 8MP ultra pixel from any or all of Samsung, Nokia, and Sony and it will be miles ahead.

adele, 24 May 2013nice move but it still the same One without sdcard slot &am... moreAs much as i hate the omission of SD card slot and a removable battery on the HTC one...i will buy a stock HTC ONE before i go for a stock GS4. Would've loved an 8 Ultra pixel cam on the One but the cam they have on now is very comparable to the 13MP shooters on the other top phone...i think HTC's Ultrapixel camera tech has a lot of promise and we can only expect good things from it next time around. How about an HTC made Nexus...i will be the very first person in line for it. (still keeping my N1, the best made Nexus thus far)

This is not going to happen. All this nonsense (pun intended) began with a complete misunderstanding of a tweet by HTC employee Leigh Momii. But once the fans got any bit of what they thought was encouragement, they went wild making stuff up about a mythical "HTC One Google Edition"! Of course hardly any of them took a blind bit of notice when Leigh herself later tweeted and tried to tell people to stop posting misleading information about what she said.

If this aint true it will bring htc even further down, because now people will wait for this device instead of buying the current available one. Along with the ongoing patentwar with nokia, htc is doomed.

It's not just AOSP... The phone will have unlocked bootloader which is a big deal for many. But Sense is probably the best customized android out there and ONE will suck without it.
If htc didn't go with that camera it would sell like hot cakes. The theory behind the camera is good but it simply lacks behind the SGS4. I would get the SGS4 with stock android instead of the touchwiz version any time though. Too bad it's not coming to EU.

These are poor attempts. Google should do something about android updates with the compinies. Android updates and company UI's should be seperated. Otherwise it's not going anywhere. I am not gonna buy a new phone each time Google announces a new Android version. May be flagship models get updates here an there but the others almost never do. This is still a stronghold for Apple. Android will reach version 5 soon, it is about time Google do something...

nice idea ,but what about htc one with sense UI with fast updates just like google nexus , come on it does not take much , besides the sense is gorgeous and i would not replace it with 100 touchwiz and stock android UI's together

Thirumal, 24 May 2013So, Finally a "Senseless" HTC OneYup, not that Sense is the worst UI, and it can already be waved off with custom launcher, but all phones should come with the option of pure Android or manufacturer/carrier UI.
