Design looks very clumsy, why have it as an add on and not integrated into the watch like Garmin has on its top range watches?

I wonder if the philosophy is that since the Iwatch already is a clumsy pillbox on a string, adding more junk to the string would not make it substantially worse....?

Hey Apple, please add a knife, some rope, fishing hooks and a hammock. On the Pro Max version, a tent instead the hammock would be nice!

I'm guessing this will never come to fruition and was patented mostly to stop anyone else from patenting it and actually using it in a product (a very common practice).

May I remind you. Before Garmin Released their own version of flashlight watch. China already has a lot of those Flashlight watches. Analog display with a 50 lumen flashlight that can be recharged via Micro-USB. The Battery on the analog watch is separated from the battery that the flashlight is using.
If its gonna be a patent war. China might already won.

There already are smartwatches that have flashlight even tough not like this in the band.
When you need flashlight use then i take phone first.
This on a watch wont light up a lot and hand is also blocking it. For female to find lipstick from there bags then have the light in a right place. I dont see what other use this can have

This is already available on a bunch of higher-end Garmin watches. Apple should not be able to get a patent on this...

At this gimmicky rate I don't think we will ever get a wrap-around display smartwatch or smartband. Only ZTE dares to experiment.

Just make the screen bright enough to use as a flashlight. Orr, cheaper idea, buy a flash light.

I like the Garmin approach more. Their 7 Pro watches have a flashlight inside the watch itself so it does not matter what band you use.
