Mufeng, 27 Sep 2008The race is never for the swift.NOKIA has rule in every cat... moreTell me do you always have wifi around you? Do you even have wireless internet?, if not then wifi is useless. 3G is way better.

Doesn't anyone find the low end resolution of the display disappointing. Mid level is 400x640, High end is something like 400x800 so why are people so happy to see such a crappy screen when that is what you will be looking at ALL the time?

This phone also have SRS feature to increase the audio quality. I think Samsung want to compete with Dolby Mobile feature in LG KC910 Renoir.
Last time I see Samsung used SRS in SGH-i300 Windows Mobile Smartphone.

Why do people need such a phone, what the price will be?On the price of ONE phone you can buy an slr like camera+normal phone+mp4 player, and you have 3 things in your pocket. Nice phone but for what?!

Samsung only want u to choose because they have different market segment. They also don't want to defeat the old product market like Omnia or INNOV8.

I think WiFi is more useful in smartphone. This phone are not smartphone. Sooner or later Samsung will released another 8 megapixel touchscreen camera phone with WiFi and operating system(maybe touchscreen Symbian OS or the next generation of the Omnia).

Also I heard some reviewed said that GPS in this phone are for Geotagging only. But u can added Google Maps for sure. I think GPS not run perfect in not smartphone. I have tested in Sony Ericsson C702i. The GPS run more slower and not smooth like in smartphone device.

CSingh, 26 Sep 2008i cant believe i am saying this but nokia is falling behind... moreWell, maybe it was true that nokia thrashed its competition... that was before...look now... it seems that every other phone company has been pounding on Nokia for quite some time now... and what did nokia do... pull out the N96 and the 5800 which by the way are already outdated and outclassed!!! Sad but true...lol

I dont know why u guys are so obssesd with this 8 megapixel thingy, it is just a gimmick most manufacturers use to boost sales, 8 megapixel doesn't necessarily mean high quality, it is just the resoultion of the cam, dats all.

As for me i prefer at most a 5 megapixel cam with real nice quality, it is way better than an 8mp cam with low quality and an output of about 3-4mb per pic, it just fills up ur memory real quick with washed out, unsaturated pics.

But don't get me wrong folks, dis doesn't mean 8mp or higher resolution cams are generally bad, Many digital cams posses higher mp with stunning quality. its just that on a phone they manufacturers can afford to beef up the quality of the cams to d extent of digi-cams except they are willing to sell their phones for $1500 and above. So next time u see specs like these remember it is likely to be a gimmick.

David, 26 Sep 2008i don't think Nokia is falling behind, they are probably al... moreyea your right, but it might seem alot like the N95 8GB and N96 story where nokia waited for the N95 8GB to sell well and than realease the N96, now they will probably wait for the N96 and N85 to settle in the scene and by than as you mentionsed the 8mps will be out nokia will trash the rivals with their 8mp phones and with the Tube on the way its all good......and the day hell freezes over is when Nokia will be over killed, look at Moto, Asus, Philips and even SE....they are like alive by threads Se;s only got C905 and X1 which are both rivaled in almost every spec but these companies are still here, so nokia deing...hell no!!!

i don't think Nokia is falling behind, they are probably already sitting in their own 8mp software, waiting for the 8 mpixel race to settle with all these halfbreed 8mp phones with poor spec sheets, and then Nokia will just suddenly announce the perfect 8mp phone of its time with all other trimings and specs, just like they did with the N95 in the 5mp race and the N73 in the 3 mp race, and utterly demolished their competition with those 2 phones in both the 5mp and the 3mp market. Nokia dont release halfbreed phones with only a good camera but lacking in everything else just for the sake of releasing. Nokia is probably one of the few mobile companies that think through what they are releasing so they can include everything needed in the spec sheet.
I wouldnt underestimate Nokia just because someone suddenly made a decent 8mp phone, they always thrash the rivals in some way, they are just waiting for the right time, u'll see.

i cant believe i am saying this but nokia is falling behind big time is there even any signs of an 8mp phone yet? I wish this samsung had wifi but outside of that this is a pretty flwaless phone ill be sticking with my omnia on this one though.

                                N96 still got more fun,

                                theres
                                2 Samsung 8mp
                                2 LG 8mp
                                Se C905 8mp
                                Samsung Omnia 5mp
HTC Touch HD 5mp and the Diamond to rival the N96 and not forgeting yesterdays highenders like K850i and N95, N82...

N96 maybe really late and is't touch screen but its still great, these small flows like no wifi and no xenon are either really stupid or done on purpose for all that market stuff...but no wifi...thats major man for alot of people, its almost like they ruled out 70% of the market for this

with its USD800+ pricetag, Samsung should consider to add wifi in it.
not many people willing to pay that much of money just for the 8mp camera alone.
most people will buy the other brand's solution with less megapixels but offer more features...

its worthless without the wifi support!

if HTC added a jog button to the Touch HD, it would be the perfect device of all!
