Google launches Pixel Diagnostic App and new repair manuals to fix Pixels easily

Google also announced Repair Mode to protect the data on your Pixel when it's getting repaired.

There is the occasional stutter every once in a while, but thats pretty common with older devices.

    Also unrelated, but the batteries on my older pixels (especially my 3a) still last quite a while. They don't last all day like modern flagships, but they do last for a while. Much longer than my Galaxy Note9, which has a brand new battery (the pixels don't.)

      That will come in handy because they are shockingly bad phones.

        Anyone else can do that even something old as S3 mini.
        I was not speaking about using phone for just the most neophyte of the tasks.

They're one of the only devices that people rarely complain about slowdowns over time. My pixel 3a and 3XL both ran well on android 12 before I upgraded them to Pixel experience 13+, which they still run well on.

            also this wouldnt work anyways. Most modern cell carriers require you to log in and verify the sim change before you can utilize the phone number to prevent sim swap attacks.

Chin... moreYou laugh but while the weekly jab was pushing it, it's now cheaper to just buy a used phone from the same or different maker than waste time taking it for repairs and money buying almost non existent spare parts.

                                  Super ineffective, Google should be ashamed of itself. Chinese companies like Xiaomi are miles ahead - when you have any issue with your phone, they will simply direct you to the closest store so that you can purchase their new phone (which they release on a weekly basis). All problems fixed instantly!

                                        With their usual worse specs they would do better if they stop overpricing everything.
                                        Having 7 years of updates is fine if the hardware can keep up with software. Since this is never case of a Google then it does not matter.
                                        Same goes with their app.
                                        You can repair or diagnose but you cant help your old device to be new.
