Weekly poll results: the Galaxy A25 overshadows the Galaxy A15 5G and A15

24 December 2023
The A25 could do with a price cut or promo deal, but it is the clear favorite of the three. The A15 5G needs a price cut before it starts making sense.

I like using samsung

realgoodgame, 24 Dec 2023The 1280 is also almost 2 year oldAnd this is a brand new phone.

    So?

realgoodgame, 24 Dec 2023What is wrong with the 778G?What "is" wrong with it? Did you not read what I said about it being a garbage mid ranger that's almost 3 years old?

But if you meant to ask what "was" wrong with it: It was a slow chip yet manufacturers were pricing the phones they used it in like flagships. You had companies like Nothing using it when it was over a year old and putting it into phones that they wanted 5 hundred bucks for. It launched after the Redmi K50 Pro which was 70 euros cheaper with a ~70% higher Antutu score. Because Xiaomi chose to use a sensible Dimensity 9000 and priced the phone reasonably instead of using a horrendous 778G and pricing the phone just as horrendously.

The only decent midrange chip Qualcomm's made in recent years was the 7+ Gen 2 because it was a rebranded/underclocked 8+ Gen 1. Hard to make a bad midrange chip when it was essentially just a last gen flagship chip.

Ssg, 24 Dec 2023OMG! some of us literally just cast hatred on devices all b... moreI just read through that comparison you linked and... it seems like the Xiaomi destroys the Samsung? Borderline twice the Antutu score? Way faster charging speeds? Twice the storage and 2 gigs more RAM in the base variant?

I mean you act like people are hating because of the Exynos name, but that slow Exynos SoC is precisely why it's such a bad phone? Samsung tries to claim that Exynos 1380 chip is 5nm when it's significantly slower than a 7nm chip like the Snapdragon 860. They consistently fail to produce chips on par with TSMC's, and it crippled 2 years worth of flagships. Any "prejudice" people have against their chips is justified.

realgoodgame, 24 Dec 2023Exynos 1280 isn't that bad, it offers GPU performance ... moreI was insulting the garbage 778G when it launched for being one of Qualcomm's typical horrendous mid ranger chips. You think I'm gonna agree with you saying a chip isn't that bad because it's "close to" the performance of that nearly 3 year old garbage? 💀 Let's be realistic here, buddy.

I think, if you can listen to yourself... The lists you mentioned is an enough plus for an average user. Believe it or not using devices (be it a flagship or not) to full potentials considering Benchmarks is a less for the masses, I mean 88% won't even attempt for once, if not for competition here and there.

... And again I'm repeating it "this is what makes Apple what they are today" products with powerful processors but less features to utilize that power. Even a low end android does better!

I mean I can reccomend both phones, but with different kind of people. I would reccomend A54 for someone old that needs a "just work" phone, while for someone who needs the best performance on that price, Poco F5 seems a better option.

The reason to choose F5: not everyone cares about camera. not everyone cares about having an IP rating on their phone. not everyone needs the latest software everytime.

realgoodgame, 24 Dec 2023Exynos 1280 isn't that bad, it offers GPU performance ... moreTbh I've tried Exynos 1280 on A53. It's bad, but not in performance side, but on the efficiency and temperature side. Battery life is kinda bad + it can heat up quickly easily if you use it for heavy uses for a long time. Some problems that doesn't existed on G99 which might has "slower performance".

For one those two phones have 4K selfie video, this one does not, plus those two phones have IP67, this one does not. A more direct comparison would be A25 vs M34. Here the M34 just has the bigger battery (6,000 mAh vs 5,000 mAh) but the A25 has stereo speakers over the M34's mono speaker.

I'm not so surprised why the poco f5 got more votes than the A54. Seriously it's very decisive if you don't get yourself proper research and probably deep reviews before drawing conclusions.

For the sake of the public' Gsmarena team seems considering rating the poco f5 upper over the A54 even when their reviews denied it

A very costly phone. A25 is expected to start at 300 or even 350 eur in europe.
For 350 there are so many a lot better devices honestly.
Just like with S23 FE for bigger initial price than regular and a lot better S23 which could be bought for 100 less at same time compared to S23 FE.
