Another year in which you either get a flagship or don't get a new phone at all.

🤣... I trust you, because I knew this was coming

Anyways it kind of funny and bias too(agreed or not) when your daily driver is left aside from matters like this.
At least it's still functioning alive, giving you the chance to take part in Gsmarena... Ain't easy, make it the least, even if it ain't giving you full satisfaction.

The title of this article says:

My Top 5 PHONES of 2023

Emphasis on the word "PHONES" and the year "2023"

For an entire year this site went through a vast variety of smartphones and the favourites only boil down to the same generic top 5

Doesn't that alienate your audience from different price categories?

Couldn't the gsmarena change this format for different classes flagship, upper-midrange midrange, budget

Or make it top 2 for flagship, midrange and budget.. you'd still get 6 phones in the list so it's just 1 extra from the top 5

Or allow for 2 representations in the flagship tier, then a top 1 for upper-midrange, midrange and budget class =5

I know it's their opinion.. but that is the issue... They are not sharing their opinions on other classes of phones which to me does not fit the spirit for this site or is a wasted opportunity

We always know the top flagship picks but we never get to know their favourites for other classes

He went ahead to pick flagship from the leading companies 😂
        No stress 😊👍

The 15 Pro Max has awful noisy image quality on the zoom lens often noisy. Main camera is fine the wide angle is poor and I found the zoom lens OIS is so shaky

Ssg, 31 Dec 2023Pls Man! Which of this is your personal daily driver? Pxs🙏None of those, my personal phone is a Xiaomi 12. However, I did try out for a few days the Magic 5 Pro and had a quick look and try woth the P60 Pro. The others, I didn't get to try. Why you ask?

                    Pxs🙏

Least controversial list yet and I can understand why these were chosen.

It was definitely an interesting year for smartphones, with many places to chose from. Can't wait to see what 2024 got to offer. Happy New Year y'all!

                        My top 5 would be:

                        HONOR MAGIC 5 PRO
-Had a chance to test it out, and I ended up quite surprised of the camera performance. The design is also one of my favorites. Very underrated phone imo

                        REALME GT5 PRO
-Even though I don't like that they kinda copied the design from the Huawei Mate 50, the specs attract my attention more, especially at that price. Yes, a better Ultrawide would've been appreciated, but other than that, what you get for the price is amazing. Realme hit a home run with this one

                        OPPO FIND X6 PRO
-Apart from limited availability, this phone is a beast, nearly perfect in every way. Superb display, flagship performance all-around, one of the best camera systems on a phone....a huge upgrade over the Find X5 Pro

                        ONEPLUS OPEN
-I think this one is on everyone's top 5 list this year....and it deserves to be. Definitely the best foldable this year, with great custom software and beastly camera setup.

                        HUAWEI P60 PRO
-Even with the obviously caveats, I'd still consider the P60 Pro if I would be looking for a great camera setup and a premium and lightweight design.

                        Honorable mention:

                        ZTE nubia Z50S Pro
-While I love the design and the specs, with the cameras being what got me curious and interested on this phone, I was a bit disappointed when GSMARENA reviewed it and saw that the camera is good, but not exceptional. Got my hopes a bit too high, yet it did get a global release, same as for the Z60 Ultra, so maybe ZTE finally is taking things more seriously, and if they fix their software support, then I would consider their phones.

justasmile, 31 Dec 2023Pixel 8 pro doesn't deserve to be on this list. 7 year... moreIt's a personal list though so he can have whatever phones he likes on his own personal list. Just cause it wouldn't be on your personal list doesn't mean it shouldn't be on somebody else's.

Pixel 8 pro doesn't deserve to be on this list. 7 years of updates with snapdragon 8 gen 1 performance...

A Samsung S23+ would be better, and most likely getting most of the AI features from S24.

A very ''balanced'' list that isnt even afraid to mention cons here and there, unlike some other lists that just praise their picks.
