And I disagree that this year is unimpressive. We've had impo phones like the mate 60 pro release, the find x6 pro was a beast of a phone. We saw a LOT more competition than internationally for folding phones. So much being overlooked here

This is the subjective opinion of one/some of their staff. Other reviewers have different rankings. There is no 'official' phone of the year as it's all subjective and boils down to personal preference. All the top flagships are at a similar level now and different people prefer different ones

If Xiaomi makes their high end phones widely available, then they will sell well. This year even though phones will be really good, next year is when phones will sell like mad.

                They've given the Xiaomi 13 Ultra a 4.8 rating in reviews and no other phone got that this year... so the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is officially the phone of the year.

                  Spot on... They all is unimpressive or rather totally boring. Minor upgrades on each release.
                  Even i cant live without the pen in the S23 Ultra i told my self not to Samsung next time and next time is January or February. But the worst is me and most people out there cant find a phone where all what you want is included in whatever phone.
                  That's actually totally weird, why do most phones looks very similar.

                          Xiaomi should go back to ceramic back and samsung screen like 11 ultra.

                            I think the list is fair. It would be easy to throw in a Samsung or a Pixel for the sake of it, but if there are other interesting phones, what's the problem?
