Nowadays Huawei's top has only 3.5x, hasn't top chipsets and google services. It's a reason why I won't buy it.
No google services - no buy.
No gcam - no buy.
And I like stylus.

dcdev, 26 Dec 2023I bought Samsung too, what's the problem? Who else ca... moreI mean the huawei p40 pro+ from 2020 has a 10x periscope telephoto, a better UW, possibly still a better main sensor, better selfie with better depth/bokeh/AF because of the 3d ToF biometric sensor, actual secure unlocking which is faster too and had hands free gesture support, better call quality with the under display speaker too.

It also has faster charging in every department including the 27w reverse wireless charging, only thing it didnt have was the S pen but you can buy 3rd party ones that wont compromise body rigidity /integrity nor increase its weight to that of a cruise ship.

Oh and it has an sd card slot too (yeah their own proprietary version but its still a card slot).

So to summerise, a 3 year, almost 4 year old phone has better and more features than samsungs top of the line S series now.

notafanboy, 26 Dec 2023SamsungSamsungSamsungSamsungSamsungSamsungSamsungSamsungSam... moreYou can tell most the work team live in either usa or europe, currently 2 worst places to be able to purchase a device.

A54 shouldn't be in anyones list, its an average device with average specs thats far too expensive for what it is with the likes of the redmi note series and poco series that give you 12 bit dolby vision enabled screens and 100% quicker charging speeds (which somehow this team has said thats a loser for xiaomi... And we wonder why these companies get so much hate and samsung gets way too much praise by mainstream media and content creators).

S23u makes sense based off everything ive said all year and how focused on samsung GSM are plus it being the top of the line S device, like yeah its a good phone, not in any top 5 ranking for anything other than maybe battery endurance, looks are "safe", not nice other than the colours (nice shades etc), very cheap looking really now all their devices look the same and it weighs too much with an 8 bit panel and slow charging.

GSM are really trying to convince people to get the s23fe, this has to be a product push it just doesnt make sense. Its possibly the worst device from a major brand released this year. Its a year out of date, how they can say its a flagship screen is beyond me (sorry its QHD with all HDR format support, LTPO or atleast 10 bit... No? So behind the redmi note series, poco series, pretty much every Motorola phone, against flagships its even worse) and it costs atleast the same as an s23, which is still an average phone, but its much better than this years FE (which GSM is fan edition, no one likes them theyve just dilluted the phones again and made them stale, boring phones. I dont want sd card slot or headphone jack but its what helped make the fe a bit different).

I just dont get who GSM are trying to pander to anymore or why they are so stubborn in trying to so clearly push samsung now (again ive used their devices, the s21, s22 and s23 all feel horrible in the hand, feels fake and like a cheap knock off, screens alright, ui is meh at best, been this way since s20 and s20u (that used to get easily beaten in photo and video quality by my p40 pro, was a no contest, that phone cost me £400 so 1/3 of the price).

Atleast there was a tiny bit of variety, it seems this list is based off "good pricing" in very specific regions and for most, its not true, so therefore the premise of the list is sort of void (or using pricing to say that part of why its your favourite).

I agree with the listed devices, except S23FE. In many places it costs more than S23, while offering a significant degrade in performance and battery life.
Unless it's significantly cheaper than S23, just avoid it.

I bought Samsung too, what's the problem?
Who else can give me 10x optical zoom, stylus, same battery life?
But it doesn't mean that S23U is perfect.
I want to see bigger sensors (1 inch for X1, maybe 1/2 for x3 and 1/3 for 10x) and better PWM in display. Maybe biggest battery, like 5500.

[deleted post]Why? There are Asus, Tecno and Xiaomi, too.
              All these companies paid GSMA?

In terms of the Honourable mentions, I am almost in the same page with you. I currently own Galaxy A54 5G and looking forward to add with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ in the couple weeks God willing.

Everyone in the comments crying samsung paid promotion bla bla bla..

But maybe, just maybe, Samsung and Apple sell more phones than others because 1. People like their phones more, and 2. They're just better?!

                  Like Victor said: consistency
No blown out shots, no red faces, no different stabilization across modes and cameras, no major software bugs, no translation errors, no lack of availability, no lack of software updates, no issues finding accessories and cases, no issies finding repair parts, etc.

Definitely Samsung S23 Ultra is the phone of the year...

Buh maybe an iPhone could have made it to this list.
                    Kinda like the iPhone 15..

I totally agree with the Spark 10 Pro, I immediately liked this phone when I read the review. nice budget phone, Spark 20 Pro is also a big upgrade I'm waiting for the review.

" The Galaxy S23 FE looks superb, rocking that current Samsung design language. It also feels great and offers stellar build quality with an aluminum frame, Gorilla Glass 5 on both the front and back and an IP68 ingress protection rating. Its display is truly flagship-grade, with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support and 1,450 nits of peak brightness. The S23 FE also shines in the camera department with a 50MP main snapper, a dedicated 3x telephoto, and OIS on both cameras, as well as a 12MP ultrawide. While both the Exynos 2200 and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in the international and US variants of the device are good chips, I personally prefer the Qualcomm one, for what it's worth."

                            1) phone of this price should never use GG5. Even GG6 would be embarassing.
                            2) 8g1, crappynos 2200, tensynos 2 and D9000 are all bad chips
                            3) telephoto is 80mm or longer. It does not have one.

                                lol

Damn, this comment section is unhinged lol. He legit said at the start he likes samsung phones and everyone screams calling it a paid ad lol. Relax, maybe his personal opinion is actually... just his own opinion?

A decent list. Samsung will never be left behind by this people because of paid endorsement. But at least this guy mention other brands unlike that Michail guy who's obviously a Fanboy of Samsung and Apple, terrible choices 🤮

Who would have guessed. They're almost all Samsung. 🙄
