Honor V Purse in for review

Don't let a strap fool you into thinking this isn't an impressive phone.

Sort by:

it looks nice and clean without the chain.
with it, it looks ugly and adds more chance of getting the phone stolen. just my point, i know it was not made for mass market. but who thought putting chain on a phone is a good idea?

Why are people so pressed over a chain?

This was NEVER meant to be a mass market phone, this was purely going to be a halo model. If you're not wearing a dress or something without pockets, just get that chain-case thingy off and you have a Mate X-esque horizontal folding phone for under a grand.

Yes, it doesn't have flagship specs, but we need to look past the classic spec-bragging/heavy SoC bias that the GSMA comment section has become.

Not every phone is a Poco F5

Folks, this is a fashion item.
Maybe it doesn't make sense (technologically?) for us, but that's not the point.

In fact, I think the less practical the clothing is, the more expensive it tends to be with fashion brands.

It innovates the same way the weird old prototype cars did during the 60's. It shows something new, but most likely it will not hit the rest of the world because it's not practical and has it no use, other than showing what Honor can do.

It's a weird concept, and definitely not one we would've needed. Interesting? For the average consumer, yeah, maybe. Unique? Maybe too much. Unasked for? Not a single person asked for something like this. Could've spent money into another concept with actual useful features and not just a phone-purse for the people who buy pocketless pants for whatever reason? Yes, you could've, Honor.

There's literally no need and no ma... moreThe images clearly show it's marketed towards people whose formal wear doesn't have pockets, and who are rich enough to buy a smartphone as an accessory. The product itself looks great. It's a medium sized phone that folds out to a small tablet. It's thinner and lighter than anything comparable. The marketing strategy is even better, since a certain type of person gets so outraged and confused by the idea of a smartphone branded towards the feminine half of the market that they start to think that Purse is a regular noun, rather than a brand name. You're right it's a concept phone, hopefully now you get the concept

magnificent product unfortunately reserved for a couple of countries. Innovative mid-foldable with a reasonable price (I read it is around 1000 dollars), solidly built.. they demonstrate that they know how to innovate without sitting on their laurels like..some coreans.

Anonymous, 24 Dec 2023No. If this was the case, then would not be sold How do you know people are buying these?
Having a concept product actually available for sale can be great for marketing. Something like this and actually having it "available" for purchase makes people interested in your brand. It solidifies your brand and commitment to the technology. I'm sure Honor doesn't really expect this to be selling. They expect people to buy their Magic foldables instead.
