I would have gone for the Garmin Vivoactive 5. Has smart features, can store music offline and has stellar battery life and costs the same as GW6.

Too short for Amazfit GTR4! It's excellent piece of tech. Battery life alone is worth saying more about it. Much improved Zepp app.

There isn't a single one of these huge monsters I would even consider wearing, even if it was a gift.... Some even dead ugly...
Most are twice as thick as the 7mm T8 smartwatch I'm currently using, oh and that has well over a months stamina....

Is there particular reason the list is always sorted from Apple Samsung to other ones which in my opinion are probably better due to longer battery life? I think there is a bias in this sorts

Am I the only one without a smart watch? I'm still using a Mi Band 4 and only need to charge it about once a month.

My favorite for this year is Huawei Watch 4: sea-water capable waterproofing, eSim(calls), normal map app(real map, not just directions), payments(at least where I live). Only thing I dont like is off-the-shelf cpu, I think with Huawei's own CPU the battery life could have been longer.

Huawei is the only one chargeable with any wireless charger(including reverse charging with a phone). Samsung is locked to Samsung-only charges and they still don't have AirPower figured out.

Apple Watch reigns supreme in this segment, mainly because Google, despite having a head start, decided to abandon the platform before crawling back begging Samsung to help them. Qualcomm is at fault as well, for ignoring the hardware side for so long. Wear OS still doesn't instill confidence, considering Google's attitude of abandoning things willy nilly.

Using huawei gt3 right now and I love this watch. I don't like these Samsung apple and Google watches with these geeky designs. The huawei and xiaomi watches look like regular watches which is great.
