That's a very good decision because WearOS is sucking the life out of smartwatches. Samsung should follow and get rid off WearOS too. Tizen was perfect. What happened? What didn't it have that WearOS has? Nothing! I have Galaxy Watch 3 45 mm. Battery lasts 45 days on watch only mode. Galaxy Watch 6 Classic 47mm lasts only 5 days because of WearOS.

There are so many issues with WearOS. I asked a developer to make a custom watch face for me. He made it but I cannot download it because Google Play says: This device is not compatible" This app is not compatible with your phone. or". Because gullible Play Store bot thinks I want to install it on the phone. I also cannot find any of this developer's wath faces unless he sends me a link to it. Not even when I search for the name of the watch face or the name of the developer.

I install an app on my phone and somehow it gets installed on the watch autamatically. Talking about permissions. Did it ask me if I want to install it on the watch? No!

I really want TizenOS back. Samsung should release an update and turn my watch to TizenOS...

Google has been successful in creating this duopoly.

Good. They couldn't manage software at all. Their watches were stuck on wear os 2 for the longest and when they finally released os 3, it was riddled with bugs and battery drain issues. It's clear they have no business in the smartwatch industry

        Great.
It's not like anyone gives a fk anyway. Their watches are basically the best example of form over functionality, which is just bad.

I can guess why, and I think so can everyone else. Google has betrayed all their partners that kept wear os afloat all these years, in favor of Samsung. We saw this happening eventually

There is now a glut of too many smartwatches on the market, and Fossil just couldn't compete or make itself distinctive from the rest of the pack. Plus Google apparently does't want to licence its WearableOS to other companies. If you want to get this watch at this good price then do so, keeping in mind there will be no updates or improvements.

Google alone will end up killing the smartwatch market again

I'm pretty sure Samsung dropped Tizen just becase Google paid them to do so

Samsung took their niche after joining Wear OS and taking the spotlight.

I had gen 4 and the experience was quite bad, not to mention that they barely even updated it...
