Good hardware, mediocre software. According to tests in my country half of the menu is not translated from english, making some kind of mix of 2 launguages. Phone is going very hot by recharging and inside fan makes lot of noise. Buy ROG phone instead.

Motorola slowed down under Lenovo.
It is not always viable from financial point.
Losses are not always tolerated. Remember LG?
Since 2019, more than 100 smartphone brands have exited smartphone business.
Software is not cheap. People get paid to work on it.

Well, they won't sell more ... moreGalaxy S4 sold 80 million units. That does not include S4 mini nor any variant ( rugged, k zoom etc).
Software support was worst among major brands, samsung was always giving new android by late march/early april while other ( even LG way before).
Motorola E, G and X combined did not sell any near. While moto G1 and G2 got 2 android updates, had some IP ingress, stereo speakers . Stuff missing on S4.
S7 with 2 android updates sold 3x more than S23 that will be getting 3 more androids (15, 16, 17). Both had same initial price.
Yeah. People outside tech media/reddit care about it.
My previous phone works 99% of apps, my ipad ( 2018) will be turning into paper weight as soon as ios18 is out. Apps will no longer work , apple does not take older models ( before 2020) for trade-in. No one is dumb to buy to use 1 year and over.
This would not happen if I had android tablet, even one from 2015.

But I hardly see any of those anymore for some reason. I see all these Blu phones and Nuu phones and TCL phones that haven taken shelf space away from anything ZTE.

Let me help. Just by selling iphones , almost 190 billion dollars.
According to your logic, it is like expecting person that makes $25.000/year to afford same lifestyle of someone that makes $300.000/year. ( that is analogy, in case someone does not understand, what surely gonna happen)
People here suddenly demands some brands that barely sell to burn same cash on software compared to brands that make 15, 20, 30 or 50x more money with mobile.

And that made me hate everyone who do this BS. When software support is so long it's not something I have to even take into consideration, I'll pick something nice or cool hardware wise. Until then, it just won't happen. But hey, you do you and support lazy companies with sad or even non existent software support. I know I won't no matter how cool their phones are otherwise.

I would buy that if i had money for that kind of stuff.
Still working on it.
Good phone - i like double side flat panels, headphone jack with i think good DAC, powerful, battery on PRO version, good back camera and no front hole. Didn't like lack of proper UI translation (easy to fix) and glass back.

GSMArena has reviewed tons of Red Magic phones and said their OS is feature rich, smooth and clean. and also that you will probably replace your S23 with a new phone later.
