good processor option,
looks like having Curve Screen to looks Flagship,
but this is a Vanilla Flagship of 2 years old.
if you dont need:
1. IP rating which enhance durability like Samsung
2. 512gb like Honor x8b
3. Ultrawide camera
4. Zoom Camera
5. Gorilla Glass

I understand the Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 or whatever, but the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is a flagship SoC, why would it be put in a phone priced at $395? That is a midrange price point.
Even the Gen 1+ would be too high for this price point, it's a good deal for the consumer, but as a business trying to make a profit, this doesn't make sense.
These companies tend to get away with this since they have reduced costs compared to others and probably have bloatware. Skimp out on the rest of the specs and put in a flagship SoC to trick people into thinking it's a good deal.
On paper specs don't always translate to real-world usage.

It gives the user the best performance day to day for many years, and let's the manufacturers hide the bloat of their OS under the brute force of the SoC.
My question is why these kind of devices never make it to America, a market underserved by "high end SoC, mediocre rest of specs" phones.

2022 2 back camer... moreThis phone is the complete 180° of the Nokia X30 lol, even if the X30 had a SD695, the rest of the specs, flagship-grade cameras, Li-Po battery (I had to include this specifically because this site mistakenly states that most Android phones have Li-Po batteries instead of Li-Ion batteries), and the build quality was acceptable.
This phone, however, has an excellent chipset for its price and mediocre specifications. Brands should understand that people prefer a better smartphone experience over an infamous flagship chipset

Honestly, other than the camera with that 2MP macro camera, the phone is well spec'd

This is a pretty delusional take. How is having a flagship SoC unacceptable? The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ is still a top tier SoC (despite it's problems) while the rest of the spec sheet might not be flagship, you still get some good specs like a 120 Hz display, plenty of storage, and 12GB of ram.
This is all for the equivalent of $395.
And you want it to have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 lol
