this thing is STILL getting FHD?

I love how ROG is more sleeker and nicer to look. Heck it looks more like it's Zephyrus lineup than it's ROG lineup. At least they're cleaner looking now.

Hemedans, 04 Jan 2024And more gamers will leave them and buy handheld, nowadays ... moreImo gamers are gonna be more concerned about performance then looks. But for other people it would matter a lot. Look at gaming peripherals for pc, best selling ones aren't gamery

IP68? Why do you need that on a gaming phone where thermal dissipation is more important? Seems like Asus is trying to combine ROG with flagship Zenfone. Also this could mean that the Zenfone line is truly discontinued as rumored.

Don't play this ROG 8 with a punch hole, your game might not been immersive, as the black bars covered the punch hole.

As for the top speakers, its not the best placement might cause unbalanced audio. Bottom side speakers though, may prone to cover your hands. So its not the best gaming phone, but looks like a regular smartphone that you feel a gamer

justasmile, 04 Jan 2024No more front facing speakers, but okay. I guess it's ... morebut gamers might get distracted by holes. unless if anyone gets used into it.

Punchhole with 5500mah battery = massive downgrades

This camera island is in a typical pyramid shape with steps and then on top of it is a large hole for the main camera.
Is there a reason the other 2 small cameras need to be so elevated when the big brother dont ? :D

My understanding was they're announcing it on Jan 8 at CES, with Jan 16 being the China release.

The previous leak showed a front slit at the top, but here I don't see that or a matching lower slit, only some bottom-firing speaker holes. Darn, I was hoping it somehow still had well-hidden symmetric speakers. I like the reduced height, but it's coming at a cost between the holepunch, battery, and speakers.

WhatSAComputer, 04 Jan 2024Too smallYeah despite it has 6.78 inch the width or 1080x2448 resolutions make it small(in width) its like you owning s23, iphone 15 or xiaomi 14 phone. Of only it has wider display i would buy it

Rumors of the Zenfone being cancelled were wrong. The names are swapped and the ROG Phone is cancelled.

                          Give us a ROG tablet!

Why did they have to put that hole up there??? now he is one more of the bunch

                              Err....where's the fan?

Ouifuf, 04 Jan 2024I love how rog phones get less gamery designs every year. M... moreAnd more gamers will leave them and buy handheld, nowadays things like Odin 2 offer more value. I can't understand that punch hole to be honest.

I love how rog phones get less gamery designs every year. Might eventually actually buy one.

                                    Too small

                                      amazing phone 🤩

No more front facing speakers, but okay. I guess it's a somewhat worthy tradeoff since gamers would be wearing earphones or headphones anyway.
