                I was thinking about buying Sony Xperia 1 V but becuse updates are lacking I am not going never buy Sony phone before they get good update promise like minium of 3 years of android and 4 years of security updates.

                I hope with 1 VI they are going to make updates a priority.

                    i want sony to push software update... even just for security patches i am fine (but has to acknowledge that some people want the major upgrade)
                    but it is going too overrated, as if android phones (in general) has no sense of protection after updates... or that you can no longer install newer applications...
                    in fact, many applications still supports and works on android lollipop (some apps even use new u.i. design language making it the same on newer "updated" phones...
                    AND there is still a sense of "security" when you update the google play system... that a phone with android 12 still has...
                    afaik, even android lollipop has it, since google just dropped support on android kitkat... just recently...
                    ...
                    now using a phone on android 14 as a work phone...
                    but still use an android 12 as a back up...

                                  Samaung makes more than $65 billion selling phones/tablets. Somehow ppl here demand brands that make $2 billion, $1 billlion or $200 million to do same.
