My top 5 phones of 2023 – Hristo

08 January 2024
Being arguably the biggest foldables fan at the office I don’t share the sentiment expressed by some of my colleagues that the year was boring.

        Azu10157, 08 Jan 2024Hopefully Apple doesn't make a fold/flippableWhy is this so? This is what everyone wants and it's high time for them to deliver.

          The Z Flip5 could be on my favourite list if there's DeX support, but Samsung still chickens out for it. That's why the Motorola is my pick since the Razr 40 series can still do wireless Ready For despite not having USB3 with wired video output, unlike the Razr 2022.

          The Oppo/OnePlus is not a bad foldable phone, but I'm unsure about the price. It's about $150 more than the Samsung Z Fold 5 with matching 512GB internal storage in Malaysia. That's why I'm looking forward to the official pricing of the Honor Magic V2 since its predecessor, the Magic Vs, is a value-for-money champ in the foldable phone segment over here.

            He is a huge motorola fan, which is nice.

              @Hristo.
              Why do you bring the V flip as an honorable mention?
              It doesn't even open flat....

If you're a heavy multi-tasker then a foldable will be useful for you. I find myself attracted to the flips more because they can be both compact and long as hell, which is useful if you wanna use your phone to do more stuff/consume content

                      Great shirt! Samo Levski! I own Oneplus Open and it's great but I surprisingly find it's slower than my previous phone ( Poco F2 pro). Most visible is on loading website both wifi and 5g. It's strange because it has much more powerful hardware. Perhaps the net modules are slower.

                        I'm honestly sad Hiawei didn't make it to the list.

                          Bro what are you on about?

                          Aren't flip 5 sales LOWER than flip 4's? I remember reading a report saying Samsung shipped less foldables during the same 2-month period. Foldables are only slightly on the rise and that's because of the Chinese market. I barely see any flips in people's hands.

                          I'm extremely adamant that until Apple releases a foldable they will remain a niche

                                  However, I still dont get the sense of foldables....

                                  Bad battery life, vulnerability, absolutely useless screen ratios, unmanagable dimensions (too thick closed, too big opened) and high(er) price.

                                    All these Top 5 articles are for premium devices. Kind of a cop out if you ask me. A majority of buyers can't afford them.

                                      Flip5 is the thickest heaviest and come with most noticeable crease though? Also that gap is dust and particle magnet right? Looks to vulnerable.
