but optimized hardware offers nearly the same battery life

Typical manufacturers can only optimise battery the smaller it gets

Once the battery is 6000mah or higher they just go.... Meh it's big enough we don't have to optimise anything

If they have decided to go for a punch hole selfy camera,
They should have put it under the screen.

Because a gaming phone must have a clean screen!

So basically the ROG becomes their top of the line phone series instead?

And yes, while this phone only supports 2 years of software update gamers don’t care about that, they care the most about its battery, cooling, and sustained performance.

That's because they will be keeping it as daily driver for a long time (about 4 years average)

This is a gaming phone and it's target audience buys one mostly just for gaming as primary use, so they rarely care much about a long support. It's like, they keep this for few years and then upgrade to another, and till then at least, it may get OS updates but asking for Pixel level OS support maybe be a bit too much and unnecessary as well

What the point of buying this over cheaper SD8Gen3 and slap a cooler? The point of the new ultimate lineup was the cooling fin stack that were introduced back in 6D Ultimate. Now it just another flagship phone with a cooler on top. No longer a gaming phone.

At least 4 OS upgrades. Samsung is doing 4. Apple is doing 5/6. Hell, GOOGLE is doing SEVEN. Almost double 4. Whats keeping them from 4+ years. Even 3 is something.

So again 2 OS (Android 16) upgrades and 4 years total of security?

Because starting at 1200 euro they are beyond the Apple (5+ years), Pixel (7 years) and Samsung (4 OS, 5 year security) territory.

Without android commitment update. It will be useless. It's better if Asus can guarantee android update to support device can be used longer.

This isn't really a ROG phone, more like a Zenfone with a ROG branding. Can call it a ZOG phone 1

For a gaming oriented product they should make the camera island have some physical buttons for games and have it like a grip to hold the phone more comfortably

But then again it makes no sense to me in the first place to have good cameras on a gaming phone. How many games actually need cameras and especially the rear camera.

Was it something like digimon go or something that needed camera as the game that was used by USA to spy on people and use there cameras as to spy on other countries embassies. Cause the digimon you needed to catch or something was close to all these embassies.

For now it's just a flagship phone with 3.5mm jack while have nothing premium with it like real flagships have in that 900 plus price range that this phone goes for. Wont even get more then 2 OS updates. While for the same money you get all the premium features while just dont get the 3.5mm jack

                                  Yes Wireless Charging.

                                  It's a wrap. I am getting it
