This is the effect this technology tries to emulate. No glare and no light reflection that you get from a glossy screen. It's geared towards reading, not media consumption.
I agree it's niche product, but having seen the previous generation NxtPaper screens in action, it really does relieve eyestrain.

I see this being copied by other brands. It surely has the potential to become a significant niche feature.
I've used a NXTPAPER screen for a long time. My eyes feel much less strain, and although there are some compromises, overall I like it.

Not bad, but it will be useless if theiir phones continues to flicker like the tcl 40.
They said they will use dc dimming now but we will have to see if that is true.
