All those earlier ROG phone exclusive features made it a proper gaming device. Now that they have done away with those cool features, it's like just another slab in the market, only that it's way overpriced for what it offers

Buying a pc is worth more and people can use it for anything like do basic stuff or office stuff or gaming stuff or become streamer on youtube, twitch etc.
The battery of these gaming phone will be dead if anyone plays game on these phone heavily.

Utter nin sense. ROG phones were selling well in India around 50-60k price bracket. But charging 1 lakh...and giving zero reliability confidence....is just plain stupid. Its like the intentionally want to kill there mobile devision.

This was a bad deal in the US, where prices are generally high. In India, these prices are even worse due to the abundance of competitively priced budget and midrange phones.
They also think they can get away with another 600% markup.
Just get a PC at this price.
$100 case
$75 PSU
$125 Mobo
$150 Ryzen 5 5600GT
$60 32GB DDR4
$60 1TB SSD
$130 monitor
$100 mouse, keyboard, other peripherals
$300 midrange phone is still left in the budget!
This gets you to the base trim of the ROG Phone 8, with much better specs and a phone left over.
To get to the price of the highest trim, add an optional $300 RX6700XT or RTX 4060, although the former is recommended.
