The layoffs hit the Hardware team, responsible for the Pixel phones.

Whoops, does this mean the Pixel will be discontinued soon? Or maybe the Watch or the Tablet? Not surprising, it's Google afterall.

    Anonymous, 11 Jan 2024Imagine the world if GSMArena posters understood economics.I imagine a better world if those who actually know economics stop mucking around with overhiring and "free money". Don't need to be an economic expert to see how dumb it is to hire people who brag on Tiktok how they only work 2hrs/day while spend the rest eating, doing yoga, travelling etc.

      Same crappy design, crappy procesor, crappy charging speeds, crappy many else.
      Honestly if google want to take responsibility they should sack the people who lead this brand.
      At first its their failure.

                                    For every lay off I guarantee you that the CEOs/managers get 300% pay increase

                                      They'll get rid of all humans from the company eventually. Their top "product" is AI technology. By laying off hundreds of humans from the company every once in a while, Google is making a point: they don't need more humans; their AI will suffice because the "product" is getting better.
