This thing is 120 dollar is seems, so this is an entirely different phone and should not be called M series to begin with.

It has all the features i was looking. HD,dual sim, extn slot, radio, dual stereo speakers, jack fir leß thank 100$ five years ago. Any thing less, for 150 now, is not worth buying.

PureOS, 19 Jan 2024Agreed. Only minus is no IR blaster.why it has no snappy snapdragon?
And does it have stereo speaker? mono speaker is a bad joke xiaomi!

Muthu, 19 Jan 2024Lenovo K8 Plus (a low end phone for its time, costing appro... moreAgreed totally, but you have to admit that, even if the comment section is divided in two parts:- one which considers 720p as acceptable, and second, which do not.. then we can surely have 1 or 2 phones with 720p... Its not like its a trend.

And think of it, why did they keep it 90Hz in 720p? I'm sure they want to give 5G and smooth (basic) gaming in the low end segment... Its not a bad intention by any means, if you're into subway surfers and such kinds of basic games.
(applying 720p resolution on a default 1080p screen looks blurry)

Indeed a downgrade from the M5. Who needs 5G in a ultra-budget phone anyways that drains the battery faster compared to 4G? Specs vs. M3 seem also bad, but you need also to look at the SoC - the SD662 in the M3 is about half as fast as the SoC in M5 or M6 if you compare Antutu scores.

Muthu, 19 Jan 2024I just did a spec comparison between Poco M3 (3 year old ph... moreHence why it sold as a M6, not M6 Pro. Also, I think its 720p screen shouldn't be as much of a burden as M3's 1080p screen, with M6 having superior GPU inside its Dimensity 6100+ than the SD662 of M3.

It's more like sidegrade compared to downgrade (camera and display being ones that are cut down). At least you're guaranteed a UFS 2.2 storage in each models now.

Wow Poco is determined to remain the budget king. 👑

Gotta love that, not everyone can afford to get a Pixel or Samsung or iPhone!

KondriX, 19 Jan 2024It's a downgrade even from M3.I just did a spec comparison between Poco M3 (3 year old phone) and M6 (launched last month). Except for SoC, everything else is a downgrade in the M6 compared to M3 (Display, Primary Camera, Selfie Camera, Battery). Unbelievable. And the smartphone OEMs are wondering why people are not buying even cheap Android phones, but Apple is able to maintain its sales in premium segment.

justasmile, 19 Jan 2024Downgrade from even Poco M4.It's a downgrade even from M3.

It is cheaper than the M5,right?

                        Downgrade from even Poco M4.

Sam N8 808 owner, 19 Jan 2024I don't consider the 720p screen as a downer, because ... moreLenovo K8 Plus (a low end phone for its time, costing approximately $150) which was launched 6.5 years ago had FHD display. There is absolutely NO reason for phones (costing >$100) launching with HD+ display in 2024. It is just pure greed. If 5G licensing costs are increasing the price, they should consider providing 4G phones with good display/camera for the price range instead of providing 5G phones with pathetic display/camera.

A lot of really good phones in for review recently. Hopefully they all live up to the hype

I don't consider the 720p screen as a downer, because in budget segment it helps in maintaining performance, battery life, etc.
But, I do raise doubts on the video setup: 1080p30 without any stabilisation?
Even my Redmi 2S from 2014 did 1080p30 with EIS, which is still better than no IS.

Anyhow, dedicated microSD slot and 3.5mm jack is good news. Practical phone it is.
