This is not good. They kept saying in the presentation that the AI was "on device." The chip has a whole NPU in it, so the AI should be using it instead of relying on the spying cloud.

Anonymous, 18 Jan 2024Any of these to be paid features of AI in Galaxy s24 series... moreApple has not introduced any innovation for years. Every year the same phone. Don´t wait anything from them. Microsoft, Google, Samsung, Tesla are way ahead of Apple.

This is by far the least interesting Samsung Unpacked event ever tbh. Nothing new at all. Gimmicks upon gimmicks of things that have already been available for the last 2-4 years through various apps/websites. Some of the features are even still half-backed and bloatware. S23 Ultra was way more interesting when they solved the battery drain issue in S22U and improved the zoom range. I'm more than happy with my GPT-4 subscription which can give me way more useful things on any desktop/laptop/smartphone.
Rumors have it, that Apple may introduce a graphene layer to its iPhone battery this year, and maybe a 48MP wide-angle camera. Those, to me, are more interesting stuff. Even that Samsung ring is more interesting than this. Sad.

Any of these to be paid features of AI in Galaxy s24 series phones have not get my attention to be actually useful.
Marketing gimmick.
I hope in the future we can get something really juicy with AI in the phones, Apple is black horse which could have something bigger in its sleeves later this year(and those could come to older iPhones as well)!

DarlingYext, 17 Jan 2024Does anybody actually care about/want to use these features? The clueless masses that will trade privacy in exchange for comfort. This also looks like Google getting free labor from their users lol. Just like those captcha days.

DarlingYext, 17 Jan 2024Does anybody actually care about/want to use these features?Google is nowadays busy inventing different ways to snoop more data on users. Old wine in new bottles. Nothing original and pioneering left to show. No engineering marvels and revolutionary ideas left at Google. All that matters now is protecting ads revenue, fighting market share using AI against new threats Copilot & chatGPT into mindless chaos and train it on whatever stolen work and invasive data collected.
