Samsung Galaxy AI is coming to these older devices

18 January 2024
The AI features will land as part as an update to One UI 6.1.

Most of these AI features are already present in my Note20 Ultra, the only difference is I don't get an unremovable watermark when sharing edited photos :D

Anonymous, 19 Jan 2024They are bringing it to S23 FE, but not the S22 series? S23... moreWell there's gotta be atleast some reason to make people buy the fe when they can just pick the S22 up which is better and cheaper
The average consumer will be tricked by this ai marketing and will buy the fe instead

Many don't need AI, first fix the wifi 6 connectivity bug that is troubling many s23U users😔

I wonder who needs this. Dear Samsung managers give more high definition BT codecs instead. Waiting for HD/Adaptive/Lossless.

Anonymous, 19 Jan 2024I just want the image and search features, dont care about ... moreThat visual search function is genuinely super cool and useful. I just hope it'll be possible to use different image lookup engines than Google. Hopefully Samsung will develop their own. I'd prefer that over using Google. Just like I actually prefer using Bixby. Everyone seems to hate Bixby, but for what I need it, it's perfect and I don't have to use Google. Like basic tasks asking it what time it is or setting alarms and running apps with voice. It's pretty alright for that.

They are bringing it to S23 FE, but not the S22 series? S23 FE is literally an uglier S22

Personally I could use this as a more real world tool for learning spanish than traditional apps like DuoLingo which relies on very restrictive and specific focused repetitive learning educational structure - which can get very boring and feels like I'm not advancing.

Moreover for working professionals as expats - very heavily known for mining industry this feature alone is a GODSEND!

You have no idea how impowering speaking a new language can be.

Positive, 19 Jan 2024What was the point of the hype 🤷🏾‍♂️😞 It's all about ... moreThe point of the hype is always marketing. Every company will always try to put in front what they have the best in that particular year. Some years maybe be not so good, other years can be better features.
For me these AI features can become important, as I am a foreigner living in a foreign country and not speaking the language. And I am too lazy to learn it anyway (I am living here 7 years and still can't speak it or understand it). So, I can see myself using some of these AI features (if they will remain free of course).

What was the point of the hype 🤷🏾‍♂️😞
It's all about minimal upgrades anyway, at least they didn't make it seem inferior tobthe S23 series which is kinda good, all android smartphone companies are going the 'apple route' especially Sammy

What was the point of the hype the 🤷🏾‍♂️😞
It's just almost the same phone, I'm just glad that they didn't take away anything or make the phone inferior to the older S23,they are all going the "apple route" which is kind of good I guess

PatrickCzech, 19 Jan 2024And the Galaxy AI will be free only till 2025.I hope Samsung will not force people in having these AI features and pay for them.
I mean, if you do not agree to pay and have these AI features, to make it bad afterwards somehow.
Anyway, is not good news. It means other manufacturers will follow, so it will just be another way for companies to extract money from customers on a monthly bases. Not like we don't already have tens of subscription services.

Anonymous, 19 Jan 2024Source?Look on Samsung web page for preordering the new S24 series.
