I used to have a Sony with a 2 stage shutter button. It was nice to quickly open the camera, or at least it would have been if the phone didn’t take 5 seconds to open the camera and another 3 seconds to take a picture. Luckily these iPhones have like 100x the processing power of that older phone of mine.

Bringing the old but useful feature... I m missing thia button always... Feels good to see a rumour of it on iphone. Is it pans out , maybe androids will follow suit after that.

But will come with the same design from 300 bc

To me, that just looks like the mmWave antenna on the USA models, same size, same placement. It would make more sense if the Action button would be the one gaining zoom control as a new feature.

Very cool and handy for one-handed video recording.

Why not do it for the action button instead, with double click being focus and single click taking photo/video?
