xperia ph, 02 Jun 2013It's xperia s and bought it here in philippines mate. It doesn't matter where you bought it. What matters is your SI number which will tell you where Sony originally shipped the unit to. 1257-5175 can be found in stores over the world if you do a Google search.

If 1257-5175 is for Acro S, then you have a UAE version. The entire region of Middle East and North Africa (MENA) has not received JB updates, at the time of writing. That's why the Egyptians and KSA fellas are complaining. A lot of phones bought in the Phillipines originate from MENA because many of them work in Dubai.

Yes! My acro S was updated to Jelly Bean on 31-5-2013. Works find and very zippy as compared to ICS...Singapore Here

I guess the ones with 1257 are international versions that will get the update later than the others. Cause I've seen comments that they haven't get the update and their SI number also starts with 1257. Well I'm not quite sure but that is my observation.

Alright ppl, I bring the truth. I'm gonna be brief.
I've updated my Xperia acro S with 4.1.2. Here's what's gonna matter to you.
Overall the phone seems faster.
Transitions between applications seem smoother.
There's more RAM to play around with.
Here's the bad.
The battery consumption has increased, you're gonna see that in just the first hour of playing with your phone.
The camera/video recorder share the same screen, even both shutter buttons are there.
The keyboard will IMMEDIATELY frustrate you. The LETTER you press isn't the letter that's selected. Letters like "u" are auto corrected to "I". "A" is auto corrected to "Q"...etc. there's now more use of the battery draining colour white...
All I'm saying is watch some videos on before you update...

Did not have jb via ota or sus yet so I used the flash tool and official ftf file. So no need for rooting. So far Jelly Bean seems pretty stable. Nice keyboard, some new equalizer options in the settings. Generally much smoother due to project butter but I had to enable a few settings in the developer options for this to be really noticable. So far this seems a good update.

i'm from Saudi Arabia, the sony website showing latest JB update, but when i connect with PCC and SUS it showing you have running in latest software....what is going on here....can any one tell when it will available for downloading in saudi arabia?

Mine is 1257-5188 I guess the ones that starts with 1257 will get the update later than the others. And I googled it and saw lots of comments from people who have 1257 as their SI number and they haven't get the date too.
