31 May, 2013
HTC brought great news to those that already bought the One, but prefer stock Android.

Wow, HTC learned the lesson. That's unexpected.

It could be pretty good. Sense 5 is the only UI skin ever I'd consider using over stock google OS since like ICS, but having an updated stock rom could mean way quicker updates to newer OS versions-> which is only a good thing. Bring it on!

AnonD-152130, 04 Jun 2013It's a matter of cost vs popularity. The One and the iPhone... moreIt's not needed by most Iphone and HTC users either. But it sure could be useful...Even with a 64GB micro sd. Especially with the promise of it, how far today is, the sheer size of recorded HD videos, and the mounds of high quality content. It's one of the janky things Samsung has done...Obviously it wouldn't sell as much, but it would absolutely sell.

Anonymous, 03 Jun 2013Unless Sammy actually releases their 64GB version finally..... moreIt's a matter of cost vs popularity. The One and the iPhone have non-expandable storage, so many more people might need 64GB. Samsung's phones are expandable via microSD, so they have up to an extra 64GB on top of that 16 or 32. It's really not needed for 99.99% of the people.

Anonymous, 31 May 2013Then buy 64gb from HTC and you can brag you have the greate... moreUnless Sammy actually releases their 64GB version finally....I honestly don't get why they don't. They makes some of the best memory chips. And the memory chips in all Iphones and even in the One are made by Samsung. So why do they make 64GB for others but not Galaxy while Galaxy is otherwise on top.

when you buy a phone you be given a choice. of stock os/ or with makers bloatware. like buying a car petrol or diesel. same car. different fuel. simples.

Members of the Rooting world already know that a dual boot is quite possible and has been done on several handsets, more recently the Galaxy S III.

I have no idea why HTC don't go ahead and suprise the world with the choice of a dual booting system for people with an unlocked bootloader, if it's coming from an official RUU created by HTC then it's fool proof (bar a few noobs) the risks are there and unlocking the bootloader will create a barrier for people who unlocked it and messed it up by trying something they have no clue about.

Things on the rooted side of the fence will catch up and the vast majority of us can already choose between AOSP and Sense, for me sense has been done really well this time, it's snappy and intuitive, just living with it for a week will show you that.

                Good times for HTC.

Jamesmarlz, 01 Jun 2013What is the use of this AOSP ROM? I am an HTC One user. ThnxIt's gives you a raw version of the Android operating system. Essentially without all the phone manufacturers tweaks and added software. The same as a nexus would be. Faster and smoother

I do find the idea very excellent if it brings the ability to switch between sense and stock android, it would be a great idea if they lunch fast updates for the sense version , I mean within a month or less than that after the stock version is available. HTC is brilliant and I will not replace HTC one x with s4

As much as I love stock android but whenever I try an AOSP ROM on my gs3,I have this feel that a lot of things are missing.

I think this is a great option, HTC were going to be doing something like this for a while, there was whispers of this some time ago, having spent alot of time with all the flagships, the HTC One unquestionably smashes the competition.
