Now, they have increased the base storage and RAM but still, that doesn't justify it
Also, this year's ROG is in some ways, a downgrade

      The ROG Phone 8 Pro or the Vivo X100 Pro?
      Basically a mediocre gaming phone or an astounding cameraphone? And the fact that the Vivo is cheaper is just the icing on top. The Dimensity 9300 is great, or should I say as bad as the SD 8 Gen 3 in sustained performance lol so there's nothing much to be had by comparing the chips. Display is good enough on the Vivo, gets bright enough and 165 hz is not usable in most games so no point in talking about that. And cameras well, the Vivo's good enough to at least go toe to toe with Google and maybe even spank some other phones as well. If Asus's phone were priced cheaper than the Oneplus 12 it'd have made sense because this phone's camera is worse than the IQOO 12, goodness.

        Idk what y'all saying that it's overpriced. The ROG phone 7 Ultimate was €1400 for the high-end configuration model and with the Aeroactive cooling coming along. About the same price as for the 8 Pro bundled with the Aeroactive cooling too. The ROG phone 7 was €1000, about the same as for the regular ROG 8. Yeah, maybe both the 7 and 8 series are somewhat overpriced, but y'all acting like the 7 series was a bargain and the 8 series just added like $300 bonus

          The phone does not looks bad but Nubia red magic 9 pro with active fan cooling is way better to be honest.

              Google pixel series would win every year with Samsung and Apple coming secnd with genuinely same design past 5 years where a low cost device looks exactly as a high cost device.
              There is nothing worse than disguising a low cost device as a high end one and othervise where S24 looks exactly as A13 for example.
              And in case of Apple asking 1000+ for a 60hz screen phone with specs of a low cost midranger.
              Like the Poco F1 of the old times. 300 eur phone with a flagship CPU and GPU but remaining specs of a midranger.

Still this has better specs than their base and top variant too except camera.

                                i dont know why ROG tried to make a better allround phone when the camera is like a 500 dollar midranger
