Not even the Compaq TC1000 announced in 2001 and released in 2002 can claim that title, though it was the first tablet wich could be considered usable by most people. It ran Windows XP and was set up like Asus transformer basically, with a detachable keyboard.
Before that, Intel had their "Intel Web Tablet" in 1998, running a Intel StrongARM 1110 processor. Though it ran a VxWorks real-time operating system, so not as versatile as the TC1000. This was mainly a web browsing tablet.

hate to burst a few bubbles, but Noia invented the 1st tablet. Look it up, it was called the "770 internet tablet" and was released in 2005... it want released wordwide, and i never heard of it until i looked it up.. but its there, and way before anyone else.

My family have xperia P, TX, Ion, S and ZL but I think I have enough of Xperia. Sony is very sloooow providing upgrade. They do put out beautiful looking phone.

I think 5inch are more then enough. But if there are a market for 6.44inch display then go ahead sony. Still love my xpz a very sexy n classy device.

Watever ul may say...but currently Samsung is ruling the smartphone market. I would support Nokia secondly coz it has always made good rigid phones considering the back old Nseries phone set!!! Apple always cry for its useless patents...hail Samsung!!
