Realme 12 Pro duo comes with a telephoto camera, 12 Pro+ adds a periscope lens

Both phones come with a top-tier Sony sensor for the main camera.

I'm curious to see the performance of the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC. Also, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 should be on the vanilla model, not the Pro one. Realme should be brave enough to use Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 like Xiaomi did with the Poco F5.

Artem S. Tashkinov, 29 Jan 2024So which one is better, Realme 12 Pro+ or Redmi Note 13 Pro... moreIt depends on what's more important for you, if it's performance then go for the Redmi, if it's cameras then Realme is better.

the camera is pretty cool but wtf is that chipset... that's half-the-price tier phone SoC.
it will still face harsh competition from 13T since the price range is the same but the SoC is day and night, even though 8200 is underpowered on its own...
all in all, I'll just wait for 14T and see how this one goes

DarlingYext, 29 Jan 2024"..while the 12 Pro+ is the first phone by the company... moreThe Dimensity chips don't tend to be as good with camera performance, do they?

It's great seeing midrangers with fantastic cameras. However, them both having curved displays with similar performing chips is disappointing. There's not much to differentiate them from one another.

While the cameras won't be as good, I think the Redmi Note 13 Pro and Pro+ are probably better all-round devices.

Periscope bullshit this time by realme. Fan boys doesn't want know the truth. That is the problem. 2 camera sensor is enough for a mid range phone with better optimization's.

So which one is better, Realme 12 Pro+ or Redmi Note 13 Pro+?

I don't understand the decision making and pricing between these two.

"..while the 12 Pro+ is the first phone by the company to pack a periscope lens in front of the telephoto camera."

Realme GT5 Pro, Realme X3 SuperZoom

Aside from that, the chipsets are disappointing in the new 12 series, considering that not only are they not really an upgrade over the Dimensity 7050 in the 11 Pro and Pro+, the 6 Gen 1 and 7s Gen 2 are basically identical, with little differences in clock speeds and faster storage support, that's about it.

I blame Qualcomm for their naming, and Realme for not using faster Dimensity chipsets instead.

justasmile, 29 Jan 2024I'm afraid it's just a design.Yeah, upon closer inspection it seems so. They could have made it into a filter ring. It would have costed them absolutely nothing and would have been incredibly useful (CPL or mist filters) for portraits.

I see a ring around the camera ring. Hope it is functional and not just a gimmick.

Yeah, it's great that the 12 pro is bringing back the ultrawide camera. Hopefully it's the same for the vanilla 12.

They could use SD 870, which still is a flagship compared to this chipsets.

Focus is on the camers which is good (i mean those snapdragons will be weakest among competitors, but still its enough for regular use) and then they put 8mpx UW?!?!

Poco x6 pro looks better option than both of these.

Everything is great except the chipset.

If only they would have added Dimensity 8200/8300 or SD 7+ Gen 1 - it would have been a clear mid-range king!!

$410 for 256gb in Pro Plus? quite disappointing, even the price might be same as Redmi Note 13 Pro+ (atleast they have IP68 and Dimensity 7200 Ultra importantly)
