Maybe in its home country. But outside that? Huawei doesn't stand a chance. The Google ban pretty much cratered their former dominance in the smartphone market, it sucks but that's just how things are.

China is a very rich country where people can afford a new iPhone every one or two years. They used to buy them, but the United States is a hostile country and using an iPhone is increasingly seen as very unpatriotic.

Well, Huawei's got some ambitions lately, especially given their disadvantages. But I mean, to compete directly with the iPhone 16... That's a big claim, keeping in mind they don't have chipsets nearly as powerful as Apple's Bionic chipsets. So I'm damn curious what they'll do

To compete directly with iPhone 16 they need to reach Snapdragon 8 gen 3 level of performance too. Doubt it though

Before the ban P and Mate together barel... moreWhile true, China has over 1 billion citizens so it is not impossible.
I do doubt it too, but I don't consider it impossible either.

Highly doubt.
Before the ban P and Mate together barely could reach 20 combined.
