Anonymous, 31 Jan 2024How many f-stop selections does it toggle between?I omitted to say that the f-number has an approximately geometric sequence of numbers that corresponds to the sequence of the powers of the square root of 2: f/1, f/1.4, f/2, f/2.8, f/4, f/5.6, f/8, f/11, f/16, f/22, f/32, f/45, f/64, f/90, f/128, etc.

Full stops in this section are f/1,4, f/2, f/2,8 and f/4.
Between f/1,6 and f/4, you have ~2,6 stops.

Hopefully SG gets it first unlike 13 Ultra, after I've purchased Samsung S23 Ultra then release international version.

Most of the test that people used as a "top photography list" didn't even talk about the picture itself but rather about their own preference. Like some guy said below how the xiaomi 13U flopped in mkbhd blind test, most of them are just based on their preferences than the actual quality of the picture. there's lot of people that liked the "leica colour" because it gives their pictures a unique and aesthetic look than the otheres. But there's also lot's of people that hate it. If we actually talk about how sharp it is, how good the hdr is, etc the xiaomi ultra series is one of the best smartphone to have since it doesn't have too much flare or noise at night like an iphone, but also it doesn't take over sharpening pictures like how samsung devices did. although they have their own weakness, they are a pretty good choice overall

The game is now in software/AI. This is why Pixel, despite having "old" sensors, can still win people's choice. In the end, what matters is what people think of the end result, not the hardware Spec.

Iphone, pixel.and galaxy offend the art of photography.

                      These 3:

                      - ones with highest sharpening amount
                      - ones with worst color science
                      - ones with most artificial images that look edit by someone with zero editing skills.

                      Often bashed on photograpjy websites

That is early since 13 Ultra was first launched in April 2023.

The 1"-type sensor has made less of a difference than I thought it would.

I expected these 1"-type phones to easily outperform flagships wish smaller sensors. But in most of the comparisons the Pixels and the iPhones still win out.

It'll still be very nice of the next Pixel has a 1"-type sensor. But I doubt it'll make much of a difference.

It is fine to have some Leica modes, but at least let the default mode be as accurate as possible.

It's not without reason the 13 Ultra flopped hard in MKBHD's blind test.

But which are exactly their midrangers? Cause mostly, they have the flagship Edge series and the low-budget G series. Which are the midrangers from Motorola that would compete with, say Oppo's Reno series or vivo's V series or realme's number series?
