Anonymous, 03 Jun 2013which such a good zoom camera not in high end phone like S4? :(Optical Zoom requires the physical moving part which wouldn't be practical on a smartphone. Digital zoom which all smartphones have is literally just blowing up a section of the image.

Samsung tried to be the best in everything, in every market possible, low mid high end phones, camera, outdoor, chips, appliance, OS, more businesses in Korea. Don't hate but they really are good. I don't care if they copy this that, as long as I get all the features in my phone for the money I paid for.

Not huge and with a good camera? Nice! Now add USB 3.0 to get the photos off quick, a full HD screen a proper xenon flash and LTE and they'd have them selves a sale (assuming it's got all the nice sensors the flagship has).

My next smartphone will an other Samsung because I had a good experience with my S3 thus far. I think think this could back fire. But most people will not compared performance with other S4. In there head their are all different variant. If Samsung manage to make the other S4 variant work as good as the main S4 then they won. Let's wait and see. Samsung will still win because Samsung give choice. Us geeks only represented 5% of the market and am generous 2% in real life. Samsung like Apple has brand value unlike Nokia. The sell number don't lie. People buy Samsung because of his name just like Apple. Nokia and blackberry have lost theirs brand value over the eyes of the customers.

For example the s4 mini is a completely different phone on the inside yet it gets the s4 brand name. The mini should be the same as the s4 but with smaller screen.I can understand the s4 active and agree with it. But the rest should have different names.
It could backfire because the majority of people dont know the diffence between all these variants. You'd think the s4 zoom IS the s4 but with a better camera. After a while it doesnt perform aswell as you hoped. Because it isnt as good as the actual s4 it might lag etc. They think theyve bought the best of samsung so therefore it makes people think samsung phones are crap so they try a different brand like sony. Obviously this wont happen over night but a year two years later people will be annoyed im sure. Because in a way its false advertising.

I dont give an rats a....s that the zoom dont have LTE. Yes it would be nice, my homeland has LTE here and the (major cities) but it costs 4 times more.

Samsung should have made this device LTE ready. Maybe this phone will not be powered by a Snapdragon 800 chipset, instead their home brewed Exynos chip might be the one to power up this device. If Sony will manage to make the Honami phone LTE capable then I might go and buy it instead of this.
