Why are people pissing themselves over this paperweight? The Quest 3 pretty much does most what this does for a fraction of the price and you can also game on it, both standalone and PCVR games, which this cant even do. What more does this do thats actually useful or noteworthy?
I really dont get it why anyone would buy this right now, other than for flaunting wealth or being dumb.

This thing has no real target audience, cannot play VR games which is a big reason why they even got so big and the few things people mentioned as practical uses seem less practical after some thinking. It's supposed to be great for watching movies, but this thing alongside some Airpod Max weighs almost a Kilo, nothing I'd want to wear for two hours at a time. For work the battery life is too bad and the 450 Grams of weight would absolutely wreck your neck. For MR/ AR stuff it will be fine but is it worth that price just for that? Seems like they developed this thing without really thinking about who should use it in the end.

This is the most expensive device with only 2 hours of battery life.
Yes, 2 hours of battery life, and 3500 USD.
Normal people with normal brain would prefer using combination of iPhone, iPad, Macbook, and Apple watch for cheaper total price.

I am not surprised they sold so many in 10 days. As Apple thinks about a product before it makes it. I have no interest in one as I believe life is better when it is shared with living breathing people and this isn't a shared experience. I have no doubt it's excellent in what it does but personally feel it would be horrifying to communicate with friends and family with this on.

Reviews are out and not even hardcore apple sheep are impressed(verge).
Its just a 3500$ gimmick which you can buy at 100$ VR set from other companies like Sony.

BJR, 30 Jan 2024200,000 units at a minimum of $3,500, Apple has already mad... moreIt's BS. So many things these articles get wrong or don't think about. If these are business customers, they are buying in bulk, which means huge discounts per item ordered. Secondly, Apple does education and public sector discounts so if you add that on you're looking at another big discount. Thirdly, a big chunk of these orders will be advanced orders, so apple isn't shipping them for like a year.
I also highly doubt it is that high naturally, there's so many types of orders companies can claim towards that 200k stay that it doesn't mean anything.

200,000 units at a minimum of $3,500, Apple has already made $700 million dollars. Crazy.
