Smallworld, 01 Feb 2024Absolutely no one is gonna pay $1000 for a Xiaomi. A Xiao... moreand here i am, waiting for xiaomi 13 pro from last year only for them to ghost my country from numbered series and instead pushing hard for 13t/redmi/poco/c series.
it was no mere "strategic marketing decision decision", but instead a clear unquestionable statement that "based on market trend and purchasing power from last year, we determined that your country are poor, and citizen from poor countries doesn't deserve our premium offering".
now people who are looking for the best market can offer will go either toward samsung, or that overrated apple and no chinese in-between and i am very unpleased with the fact.

Just don't need Global market to make benefits with their premium sphone

I don't get why the delay between the China model and the global model. It's almost 4 months since it was launched, and by the time it releases, it would be almost 5 months, which is crazy.

They can subsidize the device due to future income from the use of the device in that market.

This really gives an insight as to how much headroom apple, as an example, have on their devices. Both the highest margin per HW and a monopoly on the app market with their app store. Although the last one is slipping in the EU. Thankfully no more monopoly practices.

I'm sure many international users would also opt for an ad-supported version at a lower price, but less likely do opt for no google play, so the price is what it is.

They did not launch mi 11pro too instead they brought mi11 ultra in india n it got instant hit.. within 3-4mnths went out of stock.

I've tried the 14 series in stores and they definitely have adds in some Xiaomi apps. There are also numerous videos on bilibili which is one of the largest streaming platforms explaining how to turn off ads on on the Xiaomi 14 series so there is also plenty of evidence online

The fact is that Xiaomi 14(non pro) has absolutely the best camera set you can get in a small-ish smartphone(below 72mm width).
Considering that it will most probably be priced similarly to Galaxy S24(base version), the difference in pure hardware is abysmal.
It may actually finally be a phone to replace my wife's old Huawei P30 and be a clear improvement.
