Always buy Xiaomi

justasmile, 03 Feb 2024Maybe a 4 gen 2.Make sense since 4 Gen 2 really is just 4nm version of 4 Gen 1 with faster memory support but lesser GPU power (Adreno 613 vs 619 on 4 Gen 1)

Since the 12 Pro uses SD 6 Gen 1, I don't think this phone will use anything better than a 4 Gen 1

              More confusion.

Because of it, all components have become more expensive to produce (And the reason why phones have become more expensive). They choose the 8+2 cameras since they are mass produced for an affordable price. That's why it is pretty common to see the same camera sensors for almost all recent midrange phones from Chinese manufacturers.

Hardware Hypervisor, 02 Feb 2024It never has the reputation to begin withI've used OnePlus, Realme and Oppo phones in the past couple of months. There used to be subtle differences between OxygenOS, RealmeUI and ColorOS, but I can't see any now. While I think the UI looks nice, I don't find it as functional as AOSP, so I won't purchase any of these brands again. If I want a Chinese phone, I'll go with Xiaomi, even though MIUI isn't ideal either.

Yay. More awful, awful junk. There's been basically no progress in smartphones for at least 3 years. Meanwhile, the prices keep going up.

Seems like there's a warehouse in China where they keep 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro lenses for any OEM to use for free

I really hope it's not the outdated Snapdragon 695. Maybe a Dimensity 7020, that makes sense, right?

Here we go again, with another overcomplicated budget phone series. Why can't these just be 2, or at maximum 3 models?
