These phones will be bricks unless Asus releases the bootloader unlocking tool again. Most of their fans are enthusiasts who want this.

Cpt.Power, 06 Feb 2024There wont be any smaller version. Asus tiold it half year... moreI remember no statement of the sort. Link or it didn't happen.

What's the point of it being a "Zenfone" if it isn't a 6" screen device? There is plethora of mobile devices with large screens but not many performance phones with a "compact" form factor that fits nicely in the pockets.

Asus tiold it half year ago there were a topic about that. Zenfone 10 is last small asus of zenfone series.
I am happy and proud of asus they ditched useless tiny kids phones with average specs.

Anonymous, 05 Feb 2024Compact phone got its place in the society tooMaybe among kids and tiny asians.
Regular sized people needs something regular sized thus 6,7 - 8 inch.
You cant crap super B specs and giant battery in a tiny 5 inch phone.
Maybe in future with a core batteries will be possible but not now.

CargoJoe, 06 Feb 2024Someone's compromising for something. Maybe. But Asus its self said Zenseries 10 were last small phones.
Anyone else wishing for small phone can always buy Oukitel K16 for example.
6 inch phones and smaller flagships are good for good or at least i hope so.
                Tiny phones are so useless.

For me this is unbelievable rumor. Why such company as Asus will release 2 models with the same 6,78" screen size? Look at Sony - Xperia V is much smaller tha Xperia 1, Samsung also difffers in screen and phone size.

ROG Phone 8 Pro re-skinned edition lol

That really does look a lot like the ROG 8. The back looks glossy, so probably glass too, unfortunately. I hope the small one takes more after the Zenfone 9/10 and isn't a shrunk version of this.

The ROG phone 8 is already a "Zenfone 11 Ultra". It's no longer a gaming phone, just an overpriced, subpar flagship that is inferior in every way to other flagships.

Asus should have doubled down on what made the ROG phone 7 Ultimate great, and should have released a separate dedicated model to be a generic flagship, instead of gambling away their most attractive phone.

zenfone had my favorite design but this times it's the worst, looks nothing like flagship, also the 2400x 1080, thats very bad, unless its very cheap, otherwise it'll never be an option

Anonymous, 05 Feb 2024Then what was the point in turning the ROG series into what... moreTo cut/save cost. To make new design and to fabricate it costs a lot. So Asus keeps the same design but gives them different names.

Sooner or later, when Asus finally "realizes" that they are without a direction (even they themselves don't know how to distinguish between a gaming phone and a standard phone), they will shut down one of the line.

Please tell me we're still getting a compact Zenfone 11.

I just hope that it doesn't cost as much as the ROG Phone and has better cameras like what's mentioned in the Asus ZenFone 10 series. It's just not worth getting a gaming phone that expensive with mediocre cameras. The iQoo 12 proves that gaming phones can be all powerful and all cameras.

Can't believe GSMarena left out the photo of its front display (from the Reddit thread). The bezels actually look quite slim, which is great news. Wasn't a fan of how thick they kept their bezels for the past 3 models.
