Brands consider snapdragon better than dimensity, you like or not. Contract does not force any OEM to put chip A or B inside phone X or phone Y.

You can accept or keep fooling yourself.
You choose.

They also had a couple of other phones using some Exynos chipsets, but these two definitely stand out.

            >>> Samsung should give more discount to buyer if still want to use exynos in their phone...

On the broad perspective, I see this as MediaTek wanting to expand their domain in the global market, for the purpose of engaging software developers to optimize their apps for MediaTek SoCs. Up until this day, it has been one of their weaknesses; only a few are willing to optimize their apps and develop apps for MediaTek SoCs, even though the likes of Xiaomi and OnePlus are helping them expand their domain through their mid-range segment.
By having Samsung utilize MediaTek's SoCs across their entry-level to mid-range segment, their domain will significantly widen even further. That, and the fact that Samsung chose to use them means the trust for MediaTek SoCs will also increase because such a tech giant used them extensively.
It's very unlikely to happen soon, given that Samsung themselves is also hell-bent on getting their Exynos SoCs right and trusted again in the mid-range sector at least, but this plan, if it ever succeeds, would be so beautiful and finally have Qualcomm seriously take the competition again with better SoCs to compete with.

Anonymous, 05 Feb 2024No thanks dragon for me.If only their numerous SD chips actually made it into phones. Manufacturers aren't using them presumably because of price compared to Mediatek. You hardly see a 6 gen 1 or 7 gen chipset in a phone.

I doubt they can be “cheaper” than Exynos.
Besides, other than G99 for 4G models, Samsung already have a complete set of mid range Exynos to use. 1280, 1330, 1380.
