As i already said, there are a LOT of factories that produce raw materials for electronics, and if we talk china, Foxconn probably learned to do things properly after buying the Nokia factories in china.

Zendroid, 06 Feb 2024No phones are built outside of Asia. Back to school with you.! Actually there are not that many nor very known brands. Shift phone would be tough one of them. And everything can be build in europe, as nokia were probably the only ones holding factories and knowlege here, but the factories still belong to other companies, so the tech is still there and not lost, before sending others to school, do yourself a favor, go back t9 that place you demand others to go.
P.s we talk here only phones, there are plenty of other devices that are made in europe from top to buttom.

Zendroid, 06 Feb 2024Watch tear down videos. Zero European work or components. I'm not aware of any teardowns of the European Edition. But like I said, the components are still Chinese, but the assembly, testing and security are in Europe.

Zendroid, 06 Feb 2024No phones are built outside of Asia. Back to school with you.! The XR21 Limited Edition and the XR21 European Edition are 'assembled in Europe', Hungary to be precise. So, the components may be manufactured in Asia but the assembly is already in Europe.
Gigaset also had smartphones made in Germany, but they have since become insolvent and were bought by V-Tech.

HMD didn't actually announce they were phasing out the Nokia brand, that is embellishment from media outlets and social media. What they said was they are moving to a multi-brand strategy including their own brand, new partner brands and Nokia-branded devices.
Whether Nokia will be limited to feature phones and will be retired by 2026 when the original license between HMD and Nokia was set to expire we don't have confirmation.
What is important is that the new HMD site now states that HMD is 'a licensee' of the Nokia brand for phones and tablets, whereas before HMD was 'the exclusive licensee'. So terms have changed.

Confusing there releasing Nokia Branded phones but announced they were phasing out the brand. And this is why HMD Global is losing market share. No direction
HMD should keep Nokia as the brand but concentrate on the mid-range and higher end models. With none smartphones as entry level.
