Kondio, 13 Feb 2024I like Xiaomi flagship phones. I had Mi 10 (and I still do ... moreI prefer Chinese brand mainly Xiaomi, Oneplus and Im still using Xiaomi mi 11 since release , I bought direct from china for half the price the Samsung ultra phone was and very happy with it still , that saving alone I dont care for resale also I mostly pass phones on to family or friends, this time out I would have went with Oneplus 12 from china flashed with oxygen and close to half the price what the S24 ultra , next year I'll upgrade will upgrade and pretty sure its gonna be Chinese brand :)

choice wouldnt be so clear If I couldnt buy it much cheaper direct from china , own country isnt much difference in price so probably would opt for samsung, Pixel etc

ua82, 12 Feb 2024dont care what look it gives to someone else from the side ... moreYes thats what i mean to say that its a personal preference. I like curved screen. Flat screen feels like i have gone 20 years back. 😁

Your reserve for the launch event livestream, not for a reduced price Mi 14 :-(

PatDat, 12 Feb 2024In xiaomi promotional pictures reds are glowing, why alyway... moreLeica sure does. Colors went in boost mode after Leica came in. Even Leica Authentic is quite saturated.

I like Xiaomi flagship phones. I had Mi 10 (and I still do - in the drawer) and it was super nice with its big sensor. But no matter how good they are in certain areas - they are still Chinese phones which means that the moment you buy it - it's unsellable after that. It's simple logic for most of the western market.

And I switched to Samsung (S23U ATM) for that.

Last year, device was about $950 in China while $1600 for Europe.

Taxes, certification and costs of distribution do not add $600-700.
              That was all xiaomi profit.

You need to remove chinese taxes, certification from the $950 before saying VAT is to blame.

Margin was even higher than iphones for sure, since it was cheaper to make, while sold at higher price.

N3, 12 Feb 2024I bought the 13 Ultra for 700 USD, last month. But not a new global variant. Must be the Chinese variant if you are telling the truth but even the cheapest Chinese variant costs $723 in China from the cheapest of the official stores so I doubt your claim unless you bought it in China from an unofficial seller. Direct from Xiaomi in China it is currently 5,399rmb ($750)

PatDat, 12 Feb 2024In xiaomi promotional pictures reds are glowing, why alyway... moreAsk Samsung why 🤣🤣🤣

In xiaomi promotional pictures reds are glowing, why alyways xiaomi doing so oversaturated images like samsung. Do people really like such artificial cheap looking saturation?

The same promotion appears to be valid on the German site.

200 discount on a new phone sounds big unless the initial price isnt 2200+ euros.

HiddenEmpire, 12 Feb 2024Not everone is a fanboy of flat screen. We still love curve... moreThat was always the only purpose of curved screens

                          For the looks

And back in the day when phones were smaller I liked curved screens, even while they have a ton of cons.

But when phones got bigger, their usability went don't, so I still like curved screens on a smaller phone, but not the behemoths Samsung and Xiaomi come up with.

I told y'all this already weeks ago

We still love curve... moredont care what look it gives to someone else from the side lol, having now had curved screen phone for a few years would much prefer next phone to be flat thats my personal preference think the china brands will follow soon enough with samsung and apple doing flat screens

Not everone is a fanboy of flat screen. We still love curved edged screens. May be people call it hallucination or what but it gives a 3d look especially when someone looks your screen from side.

Balika, 12 Feb 2024And 50 £ voucher on the UK website. F OFF xiaomiYeah I noticed that, that's why I went with S24 Ultra until Xiaomi can show more respect for the UK.

HyperionBurn, 12 Feb 2024well yeah i agree but if xiaomi also adopts flat panels itl... moreI think it's the other way around!! For some reason Samsung, which is the leader in Android sales, decided to mount a flat panel in its highest range!! It's just my perception!! I prefer a flat panel, I have a oneplus 9 pro and my next phone will no longer have a curved panel

And 50 £ voucher on the UK website.
