David 040882, 13 Feb 2024Yeah, but I wouldn't call that a smart move since the ... moreTheir main target is China, and people there seem to care more about internet speed than SoC speed. (I can agree with them).
It also allows them to support more of a "full" Chinese phone. (additional sales)
And in all cases around the world, it may not be an overall better pakage than Q, but it allows H to support their device for longer and probably leads to a better isp. Losing SoC power in favor of those two, It won't be that bad of a deal for customers imo.

I have the Pocket 50. I bought it when it went on sale in late 2022 at a substantial discount here in Saudi Arabia. But It is difficult to use; the lack of Play Store really puts a dent in usability. First, a lot of apps have to be sideloaded and then updates have to follow the same path. Your activity on Instagram, for example, does not sync with your other android devices. And Harmony OS 3.0 is not activated on devices outside China. The version mine has is an older one, 12-something. And guess what, my Pocket 50 has received only one minor OS update in the year and a half since I bought it. I keep it as part of my collection but not as a usable phone. The more recently introduced P60 Pro and its contemporaries have the same problems, despite their version 13 OS. At this point I'm not holding my breath for when Huawei makes Harmony a global OS with real support.

Cover screen is like a display of a toddler's gadget....

Doesn't matter if it's not going global.

HyperionBurn, 12 Feb 2024wont it have a snapdragon 8 gen 2 tho?I'm pretty sure it won't, unless a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 LTE version is made, just like there was with the 8+ Gen 1, but I doubt that. Probably going to get the Kirin 9000S

wont it have a snapdragon 8 gen 2 tho?

The only thing I find interesting about folding phones is that they show how thin a phone could be made. A thinner phone could be lighter. And the weight of current smartphones is my biggest complaint.
