The camera island has a slight bump; everything else looks the same.

Please, stop telling people it's useless.
It's not because you think it's a gimmick (And on a curved panel, it's less optimal than a flat panel I'll say 😁😂), but I used it daily for a large amount of times.
Even now on my S23U I use it several day a week.
Mainly because usage has shifted on my side, but S Pen is very cool and it's very convenient to just pop out the S Penwhen the phone is locked to write a note on it, then pop it back, note saved.

I wish my S23U had a flat panel. But not like the one on the S24 with those borders ... And I'll perhaps try the 14 Ultra if the price is not ludicrous. I really hope that Samsung will shift to 50MP minimum on ALL camera, it's about damn time. And not a small sensor, there is room for it ... Come on Samsung! 😬

Buy OP 12 and save some money

Anonymous, 14 Feb 2024Samsung created HDR10+ as free alternative to DV. Why wou... moreSamsung should as they then would to compete with others that does support it. This is also why I will not consider a TV from Samsung. They will continue to loose customers until they eventually give in, or evolve it to something that is better than Dolby Vision - HDR10+ gen. 2, or something.

The fee for Dolby Vision has to be tiny btw. Since even super duper low-end OEM, no-name TVs support it. But not a single one from Samsung, not even their flagships. . .

I'm fairly certain that the massive amounts of money Samsung threw at Amazon to keep Prime exclusive to HDR10+ for about six years time was more costly than if every single one of their HDR capable TVs had paid for a Dolby Vision license.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Samsung is wrong for wanting to make a competing format to Dolby Vision, but as a minimum they should make it as good, if not better. Bribing streaming services to opt for a lesser format is no good way to get me as a customer.

As a consumer opting out of Samsung is an obvious choice because HDR10+ content is nowhere near as available as Dolby Vision content, nor is the format itself as good. It is better than base HDR10, but not as good as Dolby Vision. And again Dolby Vision is everywhere and HDR10+ is not. Of course I want the better HDR-format with more content.

Anonymous, 14 Feb 2024"Xiaomi 13 Ultra was introduced in Europe with a price... moreWouldn't surprise me, but I also wouldn't usually recommend buying a Xiaomi at launch since their prices (mostly) decrease at a decent rate.

Beautiful. Simple minimalist. I think it's photo and video quality will be the great contender to vivo x100 pro and s24U. The camera island look bigger than 13U btw..

Titanium increase cost, make recycling difficult, and reduce heat dispassionate. Apple went titanium because it's a fashion brand, not because steel or titanium is better than aluminum as structural material

HyperionBurn, 14 Feb 2024this vs s24 ultra?Well, your palm would very likely prefer the Xiaomi over the Samsung.
Your eyes as well as the Xiaomi sports a 12-bit panel showing up to 68 billion colors and the samsung is still stuck on 8-bit showing up to 16.7 million. Not even 10-bit (1 billion colors) panels have made it to Samsung's phones yet. And, as always, no Dolby Vision with Samsung.

Only if the Xiaomi limits its front facing camera to 1080p recording, and you have a need for 4K selfe videos, is there a reason to go for the Samsung. Hopefully they will not have this limit, but we won't know until confirmed. Also, if you have the need for the S-pen, that everyone who does not need (including me) sees as a gimmick.

                                this vs s24 ultra?

Good thing they got rid of that leather ramp/bump. I didn't like it tbh

Curved screen, thanks but no thanks.

Ah yes, like my phones like my women, looking thick but powerful.
Jokes aside I like this design.

Okay, at least the lack of leather bump (which is huge) can help differentiate from the 13 Ultra. S24 Ultra has so minute design changes.
