And its not secret for few years now Xiaomi has subpar battery life compare to competitors, find random Dimensity 1080 device compare it to note 12 pro you will understand.

By default, MiUI is already quite aggressive shutting down background processes, resulting in missed notifications, a constant issue. Yet if this is the "best" they can get with those aggressive default, it will only get worse in real world situations. The only explanation is that MiUI is simply unoptimized and bad, and/or filled with junk processes.
Compared with the likes of Sony or Asus, where they have smaller battery but better battery life. It shows their leaner OS is more efficient.

There are so many factors that determine battery life, especially on MIUI with customizable battery saver. So to me it seems that these results should only be taken as a rough indicator, not necessarily the best results or even typical results after optimization.

you have to suffer, 18 Feb 2024snapdragon 685?? that's helio g85 level of performance... moreFrom AnTuTu tests the 685 has the same performance on the GPU. CPU just a little firmer for the 685 and the big difference is the presence of UFS support.

It's obviously not just the MediaTek models that Xiaomi is having trouble optimising. My Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G seems to have great battery life, but I run the display at 60Hz.
