Weekly poll results: AI is not widely used yet, but it has a wide variety uses

24 February 2024
Surprisingly, gaming was the least common use-case - instead, chat bots are at the forefront.

AI such a useless thing.
Yes i use AI when i play chess. The AI uses opponent moves so i dont need to play my self versus my self apart from that no AI.

Honestly AI is just a huge buzzword, like crypto and other internet high words. It's being promoted by big moneys that's why it's appearing everywhere. The big idea is NOTHING new because all AI pools from the internet. It doesn't create new knowledge at all. It doesn't ride on internet like OTTP or IoTs, it's the internet itself, just in another form. AI seems to just combine all internet tools that we have been using into one package. Nothing more, nothing less.

Wow, how did I miss a poll...
Well, AI in game is easy to imagine, like Cortana is great example...
I use AI daily tho, to ask, to create pictures, to edit pictures, sadly its limited in actions like it decides that something is bad, it won't do it at all.
I can see how it could help with animation, picture editing or automating any work, but it will still copy a rules set by company it is from, so its quite limited and sometimes could be even dangerous as it may present opinions we don't agree with.
Most extensive form I found is Deep Fake AI girls streaming live, so it looks like its more misused than used...

Azu10157, 25 Feb 2024People on Twitter (rightfully) complain about AI image gene... moreAnd how many people actually do this? That's the story I hear all the time, but I honestly can't imagine someone being that desperate (and bored) enough to become a fake artist.

It must really suck for the people that get their art plagiarised though.

It's like having an Superb Ai companion that does all your gaming while you do more important things in life, like having time with your family or doing your job that earns you real money. All you gotta do is just free-timely customize and order this Advanced Ai of yours at your will, then it will do all your dirty plays in gaming. Anything's possible nowadays believe me!, that i personally believe e-gaming are just for the lazy so why not become more lazy about it by using Advanced Ai in gaming! Right?!

I totally use AI for image upscaling on a regular to occassional basis. This should honestly be integrated in our photo editors by now instead of obnoxious filters and useless features.

-Probably prevent screen tearing or help boost fps. I'm all for it, to be honest.

Like in conversation we can use AI chat to automate the process.
-Talk to humans normally you goof! (just playing)

But in gaming will we automate gaming?
-Probably not. What's the joy of gaming if your not playing?

                  Then what we will do?
Just watch AI playing the game for us?
                  -Maybe.

People who used AI daily are f**king lazy. Instead of learning to do the things they want to do. They took shortcut by using AI 🙄

Azu10157, 25 Feb 2024People on Twitter (rightfully) complain about AI image gene... moreThe craziest thing about AI "artists" is that they have the audacity to belittle or insult someone else's and their ACTUAL art because it looks "bad" or plain "boring". What the hell are these people about? Also AI "art" commissions make 0 sense because I can just do the same thing lol. DALL-E and Midjourney is free to everyone lol.

How can you belittle someone's art which took them hours or literal days when all you have to do is command a robot to draw for you. The funny part is that these "artists" usually have massive egos too, claiming AI art is way better than real art will ever be. Don't listen to these douches.

They're salty that they can't draw so they have to get a lifeless robot to do it for them. I don't have beef with ChatGPT (kinda helpful at times) but with Generative Art AI? That's where I draw the line. According to Oxford Dictionary, art is:

"the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power."

AI art takes 0 SKILL nor IMAGINATION. Neither does it have any beauty or emotional power. It's no longer art if it has 0 emotional value when it can be recreated by just typing a few words. It's just a picture.

NeonHD, 25 Feb 2024What I totally missed this poll. I would be in the minority... morePeople on Twitter (rightfully) complain about AI image generation because people can use it to steal others art and/or make ai generated "art" and claim to be "an artist"

What I totally missed this poll. I would be in the minority that uses it daily. It's far from perfect, but it does help me immensely. I mainly use chatbots and those video/image upscaling tools.

People on X whine about how AI art generators are exploiting and profiting off artists, yada yada, and here I am using it only for personal stuff like wallpapers and sometimes even pr0n 😏 So, to me, AI art is great.

I also see many people say they're very scared and nervous about AI, which I think is a bit silly. Getting nervous about AI is just a waste of energy. It's better to focus on how to adapt to it. Or just ignore it, if you don't care about it.

The only criticism I have with AI is what these massive companies decide to do with it, and whether they're focusing on the right or wrong things.
