the reason it doesnt have wifi is beacuse thee handset will be vodafones flag ship for promoting data, unlimited data packages are going to be supplied with tarrifs for the handset, so it will promote the use of data through the Vodafone brand, were as wifi wouldnt. you will only loose out if your in a none 3g area, otherwise its 3.6-7.2mbps

a retail guy at the phone expo told me that the european version will have wifi, but not the american. So maybe it's possible to but it from a european online store when it comes out.

I had a quick play with a pre-release version of the Storm today, and I'm very impressed. An absolute joy to navigate and type on. I'm very upset about the lack of wi-fi though. That's a real shame for what would be a real killer handset!

The US version (VZW) is a quad-band GSM with 3G UMTS AND CDMA2000? Sorry if I sound a bit ignorant, but how can a phone support all three technologies (GSM, UMTS and CDMA2000) at the same time? Has any VZW phone supported both GSM and CDMA in the past?

The guys in work today from BB said they don't have exact dates (that they're willing to divulge in) but said watch out for the 27th October. My fingers are well and truley crossed.

I work for VF and we've played with a couple of demos, one this mornign in fact. It's a ncie phone, the acceleromter still needs a bit of work but other than taht everything looks good.

The touch screen side of things is really cool. The whole screen actually 'clicks' in.. its hard to describe. but it doesn't vibrate, the whole screen is pushed in.

Yes... here is the correct review.. I had a guess before about the model offering wi-fi with it and does not now. ;-(

Me neither, but as far as I understood, it's some advanced (read: highly advertised) touch feedback vibrations.

Sweet. Still unsure what that "click" keyboard entails though.
