This watch count steps while sitting or sleeping if it is worn on the wrist.
Can anyone (preferably from #Samsung team) tell that there is no technical fault with the watch or there's no issue with the step counter and its sensor?
I purchased this Samsung Fit3 fir my mother and I believe it's my mistake that I counted on Samsung. Rather I would have bought Huawei product.

i bought the fit 3 purely as an ADHD assitant device, so i could tie it to my notifications and utilise its vibrations to know when ive got a notification i should pat attention to. ive set it up so only important notifications come through to the Fit 3, so if my phone and band both go off i know to pay attention, if just my phone goes off, ignore it, if just the band goes off its something for the band specifically. Theres also a SUPER USEFUL timer app on there, where you can set any amount of time - even down to the second - for a countdown - the brilliance of it, comes from the fact that once elapsed you can simply swipe one of the buttons on screen ad reset it again. this is different from an alarm, or a stopwatch - i can set these timers up to continuously and constantly go off at the set interval until im done with it - its a priceless feature for someone with ADHD. then theres the benefits of the health tracking, heart rate, stress levels, oxygen levels, sleep tracking, step count, distance, calories, all of these are useful to know every now and then. the sleep tracker alone showed my how bad i sleep, i thought i was fine - but clearly not (studies show sleep issues and ADHD are strongly linked, and this confirms it!). its also a convenient way to control my music player from my wrist rather than get my phone out my pocket. i litterally use it more for all the little features. i dont use the fitness tracking / exercise tracking stuff, totally useless for me. and the fact the battery lasts so long is a big plus. if you reduce the brightness to 50%, dont have all the sensors continuously measuring you, dont have always on display activated, then you can get eve more than 13 days on one charge. with everything turned on and whacked up to full (like brightness) then you might get closer to 3-7 days out of it. thats still excellent though compared to other devices in this space.
and it charges fast, 3 hours or less to go from 0% to 100%
when you consider all of the above, and its price (£50-£60 on amazon) its well worth it.
i actually bought this, to test whether i could deal with having something strapped to my wrist (ive never worn watches before) as i really wanted to get the galaxy watch 7, but thats several hundred pounds - so i opted for the fit first, and if i liked it, would upgrade to the watch 7. however now the watch 7 is released, it doesnt have a rotating bezel - which was THE main selling point - so im no longer getting one, and will stick to my fit 3.

Would rather get the Huawei Watch fit of three years ago, atleast it has GPS & a virtual workout assistant to set it apart, better still the Watchfit 2 that came out last year that added speakers & NFC compatibility also, very suspicious that Samsung blatantly copied the design though

they have actually upped their quality game and you can find excelent build quality ones with vibrant amoled screens and everything for dirt cheap, why would anybody pay extra for Samsung's ultra budget device, being more expensive but offering a lower resolution screen , no mic & speaker for calls etc

Anonymous, 23 Feb 2024With no GPS I'm not sure what the point of this I is.There's plenty of activities u can monitor without GPS, and plenty of things you can check and control remotly on this device (releasing camera shutter, navigating media, controlling volume, reading notifications) oh and you can also check the time - for some people that might be the point.

280 RON in Romania from Vexio so far, it probably will be more expensive on Emag & other bigger stores.
I wonder if Samsung will ever make another rectangular shaped smart watch that would have the speaker and call functionality as well as the WearOS

I hope that Samsung enabled the use of the Samsung Watchface studio editor for this device, so that we can customize our watchfaces down to the pixel , as we want and include what info we want in our watchfaces.
Also I do hope that GSMarena does a thorough review on the device since it would be the first, after the original Samsung Gear S device, to feature a rectangular spare, setting it apart from the usual round design in Samsung's smartwatch line-up.
Even though it will be a budget friendly device, a lot of people will opt for it because of it's simplicity, not being interested in the fitness / health sensors as much as to care for their accuracy , and that's why the customization / personalization aspect of it will be such a key feature.
