    Ps5 slim is having easy to replace optical disc drive which is great when those online services are dead.

    Though i know many are "pirating" games for old consoles after the online services have been dead.

      It's too early to be talking about a new games console already.
      A new product like a handheld sure, but already Playstation are saying that the PS5 is entering its twighlight years, what??
      I mean the thing was only released in late 2020 during Covid and millions of consoles were simply scalped from the market and sold at insane prices, this didn't really settle for over a year so basically the console has only been readily available to the consumer for 2.5 years instead of almost 4, and with console refreshes happening ever 7-8 years it really seems far to early to be considering next gen products.
      I thought that the likes of Sony and Microsoft actually don't make much money on each console sold, but made it back through software sales and online services and other revenue streams rather then the machines themselves?

        Well if the biggest technical leap will be, that it runs windows or can have windows installed, this will be really exciting for a console price! Or at least that will allow installing windows programs (DaVinci, etc). We wouldn't dare to dream that it will allow installing Linux.

                                  It sure wont be, technical leaps have just been decreasing every gen. Probably some gimmick like the wii.

                                      Microsoft should just make XBox with newest Windows Os and give it nice skin for handhelds, consoles etc.

                                      Would be fun to buy Xbox Windows pc which would have equal power of 7800x3d and 7900 xt with 32 of ddr5 ram for like under 600 euros.
