IpsDisplay, 23 Feb 2024This is probably the last LCD smartphone with a powerful chipset Probably, yes. But I sincerely hope not. I hope this one will sell good enough so they keep producing LCD screen phones with good SoC. I am sensitive to PWM in AMOLED screens.

        Iqoo z8 design?

Vivo know the market very well. Powerfull cpu for day to day task even gaming is on par with sd888 but more efficient. Good for grab driver and grab food, lcd for longevity with 120hz, fast charging and HEADPHONE JACK! now lets wait for the speaker. Will it be mono or stereo. This is good for a second phone or back-up phone. Will probably get this for my second sim and WhatsApp and other apps that i rarely use.

not a bad device given it has LCD, decently powerful dimensity 8200 chip 64mp OIS, and a headphone jack!! i know it is the same as iQOO Z8. but sold globally. the only problem is their Y series naming scheme. just confusing until you open up gsmarena (incomplete specs in few devices) and look for full specifications to differentiate between another. anyway, waiting for the retail price in indonesia after they hit the shelves.

Unfortunately, limited LTE/5G bands assuming gsmarena specification is correct.

I would definitely buy this if it supports LTE bands for North America.

Vivo has the weirdest move of spamming phone, after the y100 with 4G2 and y200e with also the 4G2, now suddenly the variant y100t used an ex flagship chip the D8200
Perhaps they were pressured by the Poco X6 pro that used D8300 and sold only 40$ more than the y100 with obviously much more value offered

This is probably the last LCD smartphone with a powerful chipset

Can you name any OPPO phones that were rebranded as Vivo or vice versa? BBK doesn't exist anymore in any case

                          >The only difference is the writing on the back, which is now “vivo” instead of “iQOO”; aside from that, the two phones are identical, they even cost the same.

And people here will say something like „the iPhone 14 is a rebranded iPhone 13“ or „the Galaxy A25 is a rebranded A34“. No. THIS right here is an actual rebrand. The aforementioned examples are either a minor upgrade (depending on who you ask) or a somewhat similar specification. But this one is a real, totally useless rebrand. The fact BBK has 5 different sub-brands with basically the same phones, and same for Xiaomi, is just to create the illusion of variety, and the different brand identities attached to them. Marketing, basically.

Vivo employee: How many versions of Y100 should we release?
                            Vivo executive: Yes.

That's some aggressive pricing for a Dimensity 8200. Good stuff.

Extremely powerful phone for its class.

The only downside of this would be the lack of NFC, like most vivo phones.
