EskeRahn, 28 Feb 2024I see no reason to assume it should be any worse than many ... moreSmartwatches have a lot of space for the sensors to be placed. And since it is in the wrist. It can accurately monitor the heart rate since it has large nerves.
Fingers on the other hand have smaller nerves. And based on medical technology. It doesn't have any heart rate monitor that can be mounted on the fingers.

There should be a limited edition engraved with "One ring to rule them all" preferably visible all the time, no need to put it in flames. Volcanoes and dragons optional.

Here's a good question. How accurate is the reading of the ring when it comes to heart rate?
If the ring was tracking heart rate, sleep tracker, and step tracker 24/7? Even without display? The battery would only last 3-5 days.

An unknown Chinese smartwatch called T8 has done it since 2022 (2021?), at a $25 price point, so should be EASY for the big guys to make it better in a similar watch sized body, with the usage of more fancy components.
And I mean round, no more than 43mm wide (preferable models less also), and no more than 7mm thick!

Anonymous, 27 Feb 2024Might as well buy a real gold ring for that price. Go make ... moreOura Ring (made from fancy titanium) is like 299. If a smaller company can use titanium (probably grade 2) then Samsung can use Grade 5 for this. S24U uses Grade 2 but this ring has a vastly smaller footprint

DeepIn2U, 27 Feb 2024Too late the Geeks already moved over to silicon rings woth... moreSilicone rings are more comfortable and safer because they will break if they catch on something. In extreme cases, a ring avulsion injury can lead to finger amputation. Wearing rings on your fingers is stupid and this is the worst idea in the history of technology.

Anonymous, 27 Feb 2024Meh. Never understood this ring thingy since Oura brought ... moreI can see a certain use. For example, only way to monitor heart rate is with smartwatch. But if you're like me who likes to wear classic watches more and has a collection of them, wearing normal watch on one wrist and smart watch on the other makes you look like a bit of a tool. With ring however, you wear your classic watch on wrist and ring on the finger. But it has limited functionality so you have to decide what you need more, notifications and basic control or just body stats monitoring.
