After my super bad experience with Nothing Phone 1 I'd never pay this company a penny. The device sucks to say the least.

I'd hoped they would have had stellar cameras because that is what is lacking most in the budget segment but sadly they aren't any better than any other brand at this price.

    Plus this SOC is basically on par with the Snapdragon 690/695 found in the majority of €350 budget phones which is years old now and most of us reading this are doing so on 690/695 equipped phones.

    Which means there is no reason for us to replace what we have with a 2a because we get nothing out of it.

    If you're going to do that rather get a Galaxy A34 or A54 because at least you get OneUI 6, 4 years updates, walk in service and tons of accessories. Plus decent resale value. You get none of that with Nothing.

    So either their prices need to drop DRAMATICALLY or they need to step up and match what Samsung offers....

            1. This is actually a good news. Nobody want stock android anyway. Only minuscule number of people buy phone with stock /near stock android.

            2. About the smoothness. Yeah sure any phone can be smooth if you were fanboying enough with your own phone.

            No reward for claiming the smoothness of ur phone, no punishment also if you lie.

                Hemedans, 27 Feb 2024This soc won't be close to Exynos 1480,It indeed is. The only thing Exynos 1480 wins at is the Rey tracing, but in return you get much thicker bezels (that's for sure) and lack of fill lights for cameras.

                And not the stockness and smoothness of Nothing OS, that's for sure.

                        This phones competition is Poco X6 pro, not old flagships like some people comment on.

                        Poco seems to be the superior phone hardware wise, Nothing Phone 2a has the better design and cleaner no Bloatware Android skin.

Watch geekerwan sd 8 gen 2 review youtube, he showed why sd 8 gen 2 had much better battery life because of increasing perfomance cores. Efficient cores are good for things like standby and very low load tasks.

                              Also android apps can scale beyond 2 thread, check D7200 gaming test in YouTube it can't do high fps gaming and can't differentiate itself from other midrange, gpu is powerfull enough but 2 cores bottleneck it.

Overall 8300 will be much better but still difference won't be much because both use same architecture but different clock speed. Question mark is gpu, I dont have much data about them.

I didn'... moreeven dimensity 7200 is too overkill for this disco light phone with 'a' prefix. let alone d8200 and 8300. scratch those chip. snapdragon 680 is enough for this phone🔥😎😎🔥 and they should replace the ultrawide with 3mp 6000x microscope sensor because it does not really make sense to have ultrawide on a disco light phone with 'a' prefix as well. i expect the phone 3a to have a built in quad 500w laser, snapdragon 695.. that would be so shocking and sooooo fantastic!!!!!!!😱😱😱😱 /s

                                      Anton el .PAPI, 27 Feb 2024and do you believe that bad excuse from google? the nothing... moreIt's not Excuse from Google, it's Bill of material reported by many Companies which show Google buy Tensor for that price, and sd 8+ gen 1 cost more than Tensor, 8 gen 2 cost $160, am not sure about 8+ gen 1 but it's probably more than $100.

                                      For long time google never spent any Meaningfull price for soc, last time they use Snapdragon they opt for snapdragon 765 instead of Flagship snapdragon 865.

                                      So even if your wish come true and Google opt for snapdragon or Mediatek they will use Snapdragon 695 or 778G or Mediatek 1200, 1080 etc these soc are in same price category as those Tensor.
